Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast has delivered some of the most memorable and revealing celebrity interviews of the past few years.
You’re always going to get at least one nugget or really entertaining information and his latest guest; actor Deon Cole didn’t disappoint.
The Old Spice commercial and “black-ish” star got into a conversation about his sexual exploits, which is a common topic on any Sharpe show and shared some information about one of the participants in a past threesome that he had.
With the WNBA at the highest level of branding power and star power that its ever had, Cole’s story went viral.
“One of the girls was in the WNBA and that was kind of odd,” Cole said. “This girl was like yeah, yeah I want to get down with you. I was like ‘I wants to get down with you too.”
She was like, ‘I’m gonna call my girl up” I was like yeah let’s go to the room.
We go to the room, she walks in, she was like a 6-foot-5 hooper…hooper. She came in there with her knee bandage on like, ‘What’s happening? What we doing?”
Cole continued: “I was like ehhhhhh,” noting his surprise and initial hesitation.
Sharpe replied: “That ain’t me. I like my women like basketball one-on-one.”
Then we find out UNC isn’t as new school progressive as he likes to present himself. When asked about his past experiences with threesomes, Sharpe tells Cole, “Noooo. I never had a threesome in my life.”
Cole seems pretty surprised considering he implied that the tryst with the WNBA player was just one of many for him.
When asked why he never had a threesome, Sharpe said “My attention span ain’t too long. I need to focus on this what I got right here”
Cole then asked Unc Shay if he’s ever been approached for a threesome.
Sharpe said yes but he turned them down. Then he went on an odd rant about how because he’s a public figure he has to be careful with situations like that now.
Sharpe actually said he was scared to have a threesome, which Cole clearly found hilarious as he hid his smirk under a mug he was drinking from.
The social media response to Cole’s admission was entertaining.
Cole, himself said underneath the interview post on Instagram that he thought it “Unc is lying!!
Of course, the social media sleuths started trying to figure out who that 6-foot-5 superfreak might be. They definitely had some suggestions. Considering most women in the WNBA are not THAT tall narrows down the pool. Cole didn’t give any
Some Instagram users said former WNBA star Liz Cambage was the one. Others suggested it was Brittney Griner.
Very few people believed Sharpe was telling the truth, but one woman on X credited Shannon for being old fashioned and not desiring a threesome.
WNBA players are on the rise. Some of the newer players are very focused on fashion and being considered “beautiful.” Brand building is just as important as on court performance. Cole offered some tea, but without naming names. He let the viewers’ imagination run wild and sometimes that’s better than straight snitching.
The current Sean “Diddy” Combs racketeering and sex trafficking case, has caused a stir in the show business community.
Some of entertainment’s heaviest hitters have come out and given their opinions on the matter. During a recent interview on “The Breakfast Club,” legendary R&B singer Stephanie Mills gave her recollection of how those famous Hollywood parties used to play out in her day.
The “I Feel Good All Over” singer told show hosts Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy that when attending those type of parties that one must pay heed to signs of when it’s time head for the exit.
“You have to know when to leave.”
Mills also made light of how musical artists are just the entertainment at the parties. She also stressed that that’s all they’ll ever be, because it’s about folks just wanting to say that they had you at the party. Mills also made mention that no matter how an entertainer attempts to “brownnose,” the industry is never your friend.
Mills’ Statement Oddly Leads Fans To Call Out Jay-Z
In the aftermath of the comments made by Mills about industry parties and entertainment, some social media followers decided to bring Jay-Z and his dealings with the NFL into play. One follower commented, “This is why Jay- Z will never be respected especially by NFL owners. You’re just the entertainment nothing more.”
Another follower piggybacked those same sentiments and even incorporated Colin Kaepernick into his response.
“True … and he provided a distraction from the problem that Colin Kaepernick created for the NFL. They awarded Jay-Z that ‘position’ and everyone forgot about “Kap”!
These comments are very odd, considering Mills didn’t correlate any of this in her comments.
Jay-Z Has Input In Super Bowl Entertainment But Not Final Call
Hearing those aforementioned followers say Jay-Z will never be respected is their own opinion and doesn’t really have much to do with the comments made by Mills. He’s definitely respected by NFL owners, and while it may not lead to him ever being the majority owner of a team of his own, that doesn’t mean he isn’t respected.
In many ways it sounds as if some fans are still upset that Kendrick Lamar was chosen to perform at the Super Bowl over Lil Wayne, Master P or other popular New Orleans rappers.
At the end of the day it’s all entertainment, as Mills said.
At some point one would hope that professional athletes, would be smarter about how the relationships they cultivate with various women.
The common story is an athlete getting caught up and impregnating an IG model.
The latest alleged victim is Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards, who’s rumored to have fathered four children recently, including one with Instagram model and influencer Ayesha Howard who goes by the name “Little Miss Golden” on the popular social media outlet.
Howard, who also shares a baby with popular rapper Lil Baby is claiming that Edwards fathered a baby with her, and now Edwards wants to be sure.
The dynamic two-way wing is coming off a career season in which he led the T-Wolves to a Western Conference Finals appearance last season, just the second in franchise history since 2004. He also helped Team USA win the gold medal in the Paris Olympics. While his basketball life seems to be at an all-time high, his personal life seems to be a bit erratic.
Edwards Files Suit
Per reports, Edwards filed suit wanting to know if he is in fact the father to the minor child of the aforementioned Howard.
“If genetic testing shows that the petitioner is the father, the petitioner requests an order establishing the minor child’s paternity.”
Edwards Could Be Face Of League
No matter how this shakes out for Edwards, it’s not a good look for him to have his name mixed up in all these different off-the-court situations in his personal life. It’s a time when the league is looking for someone to become the next face, with guys like LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Steph Curry inching closer to retirement.
Edwards and Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant were prime candidates in most folks’ eyes, but their personal life choices may force the league to look elsewhere to find its new leaders.
Edwards has been at the center of several paternity issues after ironically blasting Zion Williamson for getting caught up with IG model Moriah Mills in 2023. Then, he was outed by Instagram model Paige Jordae, who had sexual relations with him. The model exposed alleged text messages between the two, where Jordae reveals she is pregnant, and Edwards tells her to get an abortion because he doesn’t want kids.
In the messages Edwards offers her money to “help her out.”
Edwards faced social media backlash in which he told Jordae to get an abortion and not taking her concerns over the situation seriously. None of this would likely have been made public except for the fact that Edwards has a public girlfriend, Jeanine Robel, who had recently announced her pregnancy with Edwards’ child via a maternity photo shoot.
Edwards made a statement regarding the Jordae situation on X.
“I made comments in the heat of a moment that are not me, and that are not aligned with what I believe and who I want to be as a man,” Edwards wrote in a statement. “All women should be supported and empowered to make their own decisions about their bodies and what is best for them. I am handling my personal matters privately and will not be commenting on them any further at this time.”
Edwards’ Fame Is At Fever Pitch
The 2020 No. 1 overall pick has shown steady improvement each season. But his 2023-24 season was by far the best of his young, burgeoning career. He’s heavily endorsed, always has a smile on his face and talks more s—t than most in the league.
The way he challenged KD, Jamal Murray and Kyrie Irving in last year’s playoffs is what the league misses. With the new era of jersey swapping and buddy-buddy era following games, Ant wants none of that.
But, he’s got to make smarter decisions than the alleged ones he currently facing. While he can afford as many children as he wants, it’s just not a good look for his image going forward.
Edwards is pretty private when it comes to his personal matters, and one thing he’s never done is openly admit that he did or didn’t father a child with the aforementioned Howard or the other Instagram models/influencers claiming to have children by him.
The wives of two Miami Dolphins players have caused quite a stir as Election Day nears and emotions ramp up surrounding the Kamala Harris and Donald Trump showdown at the polls. The comfortability with disrespecting presidential candidates continues to rise in the NFL.
Annah Tagovailoa, wife of star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, and Devon Mostert, the wife of Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert, both vocalized their support for former President Donald Trump on social media pages.
They also didn’t hold back when expressing their contempt for Kamala Harris and her handling of Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
Tua is currently nursing the third concussion of his career, waiting to get back on the field and trying to preserve the $212 million contract that he signed in the offseason. Meanwhile, his wife is busy starting political wars on social media with Black women.
She shared a post from conservative commentator Benny Johnson about Trump housing linemen who work on electrical lines at Trump National Doral Miami as a hurricane looms.
In the video originally posted by Trump’s son Eric, electrical workers are seen getting comfortable for a stay at the luxury resort as they try to get the power working again in storm-ravaged areas.
“Honored to have 275 incredible linemen from FPL at [Trump Doral] as they get ready to respond to the aftermath of Hurricane Milton!” Eric Trump wrote. “You are amazing and the Trump Family, and entire state of Florida, appreciates you! Enjoy the rooms – they are the best in Florida! Be safe!”
According to ML Football, Annah tweeted out “My President” about Trump the same week, which caught the eye of social media. Mostert’s wife joined Tua’s wife in her celebration of Trump, but she took it a step further.
Mrs. Mostert posted a video in which Harris blasted Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as selfish and “utterly irresponsible” for not taking her call regarding Hurricane Milton.
DeSantis reportedly felt the call was disingenuous. According to him, “she has no role in this.” Because of past failures to offer him assistance while she was in office, DeSantis says he had no confidence she was calling to genuinely help.
Mostert jumped out the window and called Harris “garbage.”
“She’s garbage. Textbook trash. No one has time, Kamala- especially not for her to say some bulls*** like, ‘we can be unburdened, by what has been.’
While her husband goes hard, colliding helmets every Sunday, Mostert has been sharing support online for hurricane victims, spreading the word to charitable organizations, starting raffles for concert ticket in conjunction with Dolphins’ Hard Rock Stadium, and making monetary contributions.
While Tua has been rumored to be a Trump supporter, he hasn’t come out and said it or attended a Trump rally.
It’s odd that wives of NFL players would be so vocal in their disdain for another woman. One who has the chance to do something that no woman has ever done and be voted to the highest law of the land.
Instead, they would rather be typical NFL fans and not denounce Harris based upon any policy or flaw in her intellect or abilities, but continuing a narrative that she’s any less honest than the previous presidents that held the office.
Discounting her years of education and her position as an elite prosecutor in a judicial system dominated by men. Her ambition for the position alone is admirable, considering she could have easily been the wife of any number of wealthy athletes and never actually tried to become a world-changer.
Vote for who you like, but what happened to women at least respecting the struggle?
Buffalo Bills running back James Cook is a multitalented player and a huge part of the Bills’ offense.
He’s not broke either, having signed a four-year, $5,832,057 contract that makes him an unrestricted free agent after the 2025 season, where he should get a bigger bag.
That’s why this developing story is somewhat odd. It is being reported that Cook is under investigation following a report from a proprietor who claims the 25-year-old ran up a tab at his establishment and Cook bounced on the bill.
According to the BillsOutlet account on X, the star running back ordered drinks totaling up to $860 at Venu Nite Club on Sept. 22. Venu is listed on its Instagram account as “Buffalo’s premier entertainment venue” and their bottle girls are a featured attraction.
Exhibit A is an alleged police report in which James is named as a suspect, with club owner David Robida as the complainant.
According to the document, Cook bought a $600 bottle of Don Julio, a $200 bottle of Belaire, a bottle of Fiji water at $40, and a $20 energy drink.
Cook needs to go take care of that short bill. Looks like he might have fallen victim to the bottle upcharge for celebrities, like that one establishment that tried to get Simone Biles to pay $26K for a bottle of champagne during her final days in Paris after another historic gymnastics effort for Team USA.
She was smart enough to ask the price, but I don’t know too many male millionaire athletes that ask how much something costs. Hard to believe he just bounced on the bill. One of the best things about having money is being able to spend it right?
Most fans weren’t buying it.
One X user said: “My concern with it would be, if the incident happened on 9/22 at 1:30 am…why did they not file a report until October 7?”
Another backed Cook 100 percent and thinks he’s being set up. “Fraud…. By the owners of the night club,” he posted on social media.
“He lives at the stadium now? Man, inflation really is a b-tch,” said another X user noting that the address under Cook’s name happens to be the same address as Highmark Stadium, home of the Buffalo Bills.
One fan named Spencer Rob, took a shot at the nightlife in Buffalo while defending Cook, saying, “Aint no club in Buffalo lit on a Sunday ctfu they gotta be lying on him.”
Meanwhile, Cook can’t catch a break on or off the field. The Bills are leading a tight AFC East race by one game, with a pivotal matchup with division-rival New York Jets, who are fresh off the firing of head coach Robert Saleh and more Aaron Rodgers drama.
Cook’s been listed on the Bills’ injury report with a toe injury, and he’s been limited, missing two practices this week. Cooks suffered the injury near the end of the fourth quarter of a 23-20 loss to the Houston Texans in Week 5.
The star running back jammed his foot on the ground while leaping for a catch near the sideline and didn’t return for the game’s final drive. There are concerns within the organization that he could miss their “Monday Night Football” clash and that could be a wicked blow from an offense that has shown signs of missing All-Pro receiver Stefon Diggs, now in Houston.
Cook has helped make up for the slack, rushing for 309 yards and pitching in 128 yards on receptions. The Bills may have to go with Ray Davis and Ty Johnson if Cook isn’t good to go by gametime.
This latest accusation of skipping out on a drink tab less than $1,000 is also concerning. He needs to go square that tab away. If his money is short right now for whatever reason, he needs to borrow it from a friend. A player of his stature and one that represents the team and could probably get most things comped if he played his cards right doesn’t need such a reputation.
Longtime sports analyst Skip Bayless has been in the business for nearly 50 years. Two months removed from leaving FS1, Bayless is now speaking out on how the pubic breakup with former debate partner Shannon Sharpe soured him on continuing the show after one year apart.
The 72-year-old, who’s now in search of a new partner to kick off his new YouTube debate show, recently spoke with The Washington Post on what’s next for him.
In his comments Bayless oddly makes it sound like he didn’t have anything to do with Sharpe’s departure in June 2023.
While he may not have been the only, his actions definitely played a role in the Pro Football Hall of Famer’s decision, or demise, as Bayless put in his interview with the newspaper’s Ben Strauss. His version of what happened pales in stark comparison to Sharpe’s, and that’s where the disconnect lies.
During the interview Bayless told the aforementioned Strauss that his love and zest for the show was gone because he didn’t have Sharpe anymore.
“My heart was no longer in it because I didn’t want Sharpe to leave, and I fought for him to stay,” Bayless said. “It was a shock they pushed Shannon out.”
To hear Bayless say this over a year later is simply weird timing, considering Sharpe is doing great as a member of ESPN’s “First Take” with Bayless’ former debate partner Stephen A. Smith. In fact, he’s done so well that during the summer the network signed him to a multi-year extension. This while Bayless was either ousted or asked to leave “Undisputed” in August following a failed attempt to rekindle the show he and Sharpe created over seven years together.
Things began to sour in the partnership during a heated debate in 2022, in which seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady was the topic. It was here that Bayless took his most disrespectful jab at Sharpe claiming Brady was a better football player than him. To which Sharpe quickly said you act as if I was a scrub, I have a bust in Canton,
Things became even more testy in wake of the Damar Hamlin near-fatal on-field collapse in which Bayless was accused of being more focused on how the important late-season game would be played than the health and well-being of Hamlin. Sharpe decided not to show up to work the next day following Bayless’ tweet during the game — “No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game – but how? This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular season outcome … which suddenly seems so irrelevant.” — but confronted him upon return, which led to a heated debate on air.

In the year that they’ve now been apart Sharpe has continuously stated that respect or the lack thereof played a huge role in his departure. Sharpe has also put the onus on management for not intervening more and getting things back on track. They instead let it fester and rot.
Skip Bayless Doesn’t Agree With Shannon Sharpe’s Sentiments
Time and time again Bayless has offered a rebuttal to Sharpe’s comments, saying this about the breakup:
“It dumbfounds me that he said I lost respect for him. I only gained respect for Shannon Sharpe day after day after day that he could hang on this show.”
While that sounds good and may have been the case early on during their run, it definitely changed when Sharpe became the more respected and much more noticeable face on the show. That didn’t sit well with , whom the show was created for in 2016.
So if Sharpe meant so much to him, maybe Bayless should’ve treated him better.
Houston Texans wide receiver Stefon Diggs left Buffalo because he wanted the money and the fame. Now he has both. The Houston Texans wide receiver’s public profile has exploded ever since he was brought into a potential entanglement involving Cardi B and her ex-husband Offset.
Rumors circulated online about a potential affair between Diggs (seventh in the NFL in receptions with 31 and 15th in receiving yards with 315) and Cardi B while she was eight months pregnant with Offset’s third baby.
Some went as far as to label Diggs the culprit behind the power couple’s final breakup due to his “reputation” of being a homewrecker and a guy who smashes NFL players’ wives and destroys relationships on a regular basis, according to legendary streamer DJ Akademiks on a recent cast. Now that Diggs has been caught in Cardi B’s social media web, new details are emerging about his dating habits that don’t shine a positive light on his growing reputation.
Chris Blake Griffith is accusing Houston Texans WR Stefon Diggs of drugging him and trying to engage in sexual activities with him, claiming it was the catalyst for him getting jumped by Stefon’s brother.
According to reports, Griffith previously filed a lawsuit against Diggs’ brother, Darez, after he allegedly tried to rob and attack Griffith inside a downtown Los Angeles apartment building on May 29, 2023. Griffth, an entertainment marketing manager, alleged that Diggs drugged him and attempted to engage in sexual activity, and the elevator robbery and attack was retaliation and intimidation.
Darez Diggs, the brother of Diggs and Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs, is being sued for $100,000 in jewelry and other property plus, pain, suffering and emotional distress, according to TMZ.
Griffith did not make this accusation through any direct social post but rather as a comment under a post.
A viral screenshot of Griffith’s comment was posted, where he denounced the spread of any misinformation, saying:
“The derivative of all this s*it is that Stefon tried to drug me and then have s*x w/ me, and I escaped unscathed (THANK YOU JESUS+) but I now knew his “secret” and that didn’t sit well w/ him. Weeks later after his failed s*xual attempt on me (bc I don’t play like that and never have), Marsean (Digg’s half-brother) realized that I was no longer affiliated w/ his half-brother, and because he’s broke.”
A person named Teonny Kardashian posted on Facebook that the altercation arose after Stefon Diggs allegedly drugged him and attempted a sexual encounter.
He states a grisly tale of how the attackers didn’t seem concerned with cameras or police intervention and reportedly planned to kill him and empty his apartment.
Why Was Griffith A Robbery Target Of Stefon Diggs’ Brothers Darez?
Griffith allegedly suggested that Diggs’ half-brother Darez executed the robbery and attack to intimidate Griffith into keeping what Stefon allegedly did to him a secret.
Griffith adds that Darez was also facing financial struggles and tried to take advantage of a relationship between Stefon and Griffith that was damaged by targeting him and stealing his Chrome Hearts collection, including a jacket with over 100 crosses and several bags.
Very petty robbery for the brother of an NFL star with a net worth of more than $20 million.
The accuser predicts that narratives with be spun by powerful people to cover up the truth, but he stands by his story. Griffith dropped one final bombshell, claiming that video footage of the alleged attack has also been circulating on X.
Griffith claims he knows Diggs’ half-brother Marsean through Diggs. Griffith had a working relationship with the four-time Pro Bowl receiver, who signed a one-year, $22.52 million contract with the Houston Texans with a $20.805 million signing bonus, in the offseason. Griffith designed Liem Homme, a clothing line resembling Forever 21’s men’s collection.
Griffith reportedly didn’t work closely with Marsean, who ran errands for Stefon at his request and didn’t know the other individuals involved in the attack.
Griffith waited to speak on the incident because he claims it was deeply personal to him and it was not in his nature to have frivolous sex with people.
Robbery is one thing. Breaking up happy homes is foul, but it isn’t a crime. These latest accusations are way over-the-top and we can only hope it’s a clout chase and not true. Is someone trying to smear Diggs’ rep? We will wait for the video. No Diddy.
Kendrick Perkins has done well for himself as a talking head for ESPN, gaining more fame and respect than he ever has as an NBA role player. He’s been expanding his portfolio and business endeavors thanks to his burgeoning success as a sports personality, often seen on “First Take” with Stephen A. Smith.
Recently, the former NBA champion has drawn the scrutiny and criticism of the public after founding a new company, Nilly, that offers high school and college athletes cash in exchange for a portion of their future NIL rights.
Some see this as legal loan sharking and next-level predatory business movements at best.
Some see this as legal loan sharking and next-level predatory business movements at best.
Utah law professor Chris Peterson blasted Perkins’ company and similar businesses as “trashy products designed to take advantage of young kids.”
According to reports from ESPN’s Dan Murphy, Perkins and his co-founder Chris Ricciardi offer teenage athletes hefty payments ranging between $25,000 to hundreds of thousands of dollars.
“In return, Nilly gets the exclusive rights to use or sell the athlete’s name, image and likeness for up to seven years,” Murphy reveals. “And the company and its investors receive between 10% and 50% of the player’s NIL earnings during that time period.”
Perkins paints this business as a stress reliever and win for young athletes who are in dire financial need.
“You have so many athletes and their parents who are struggling day-to-day,” he said. “Because we’re actually taking a bit of a gamble on what the student-athlete is going to make in the NIL space, the benefit is the kid — the student-athlete — is able to get financial security so they don’t have to rush.”
Perkins is speaking truth as far as the risks his company is taking. They aren’t signing kids who already have NIL deals, but banking on those deals coming in the future.
According to the article, if a player fails to earn any cash over the seven years of the contract, Nilly loses its initial investment. So, for example, that’s $60K out of the window if they invested that much in a player who never pans out.
On the flip side, if the player earns $200,000 in deals during the contract, NILLY could receive anywhere between $20K and $100K when recouping their initial investment. Not bad. It also means they bet on a winner.
But not everybody is buying Perk’s good intentions. Many accuse him of doing the same thing to these impressionable and vulnerable athletes and families that agents and other nefarious movers and shakers used to do illegally, under the table back in the day.
One X user wrote: “The vast majority of NCAA athletes will never make a cent playing their sport. Perk is weaponizing his own upbringing to swindle the most vulnerable kids out of the only money most of them will ever see from athletics. He’s a piece of s–,” one fan wrote of the scheme.
There are keen administrative eyes watching Perkins’ new company closely. Ben Chase, the director of NIL strategy for the Florida Gators, said on X that “our faculty, staff, and athletes have been advised on NILLY since their PR launch in February. Further, it’s been top of mind in conversations between NIL Admin across the country since their launch.”
“To me it feels like you are preying on people who need the capital now and using that to cloud their focus on the future,” Chase added.
Michael Haddix Jr. runs a company that provides financial education seminars to college athletic departments. He told ESPN that NILLY “feels predatory, and it’s capitalizing on young people who need money and haven’t thought through the long-term implications.”
One of the excerpts says, “In the case of the contract obtained by ESPN, the player could end up giving Nilly the equivalent of a $75,000 fee in exchange for the guarantee of immediate access to $50,000 upfront.”
The game doesn’t change, but the players do, and the way it’s played definitely does. The basic principles of player exploitation don’t disappear because a couple of players are getting paid now. Or because the person entering your home is the same complexion.
There’s new money that companies and people can try to pry from the hands of impressionable young kids and their families who may not be savvy to how the recruiting game works.
It’s loan sharking and potentially legal robbery in the eyes of many. On the other hand, if used correctly, it could be a great financial boost to an athlete’s family and personal life. Players didn’t have the option of getting paid a lump sum of money that can hold them over and help them feed their families while they are generating millions for the coaches and universities.
Rushing to the NBA or making college choices because your mother can’t keep the electricity on won’t be something that derails players’ futures. No more starving and hoarding biscuits from breakfast in fear of violating an NCAA rule.
NIL is still relatively new to the college sports scene and it’s beginning to infiltrate the high school level in states such as California. Perkins has three sons and is always hyping up his 12-year-old Kenxton Perkins, whom he called “Baby Jokic” a few years ago.
He wants to set his family up for success. With the way NIL is controlling the game right now and Perk’s public profile keeping him locked in on every level and expecting all of his sons to be highly recruited players in the future, NILLY is definitely putting him at the center of the NIL revolution, ready to deal with whatever the future holds and any criticism coming his way.
Angel Reese has attended three NFL games in three cities over the past several weeks and is making sure that her brand remains strong throughout this WNBA playoffs.
She’s on the full road to recovery from a wrist injury that cost her the last six games of the season and knocked her out of Rookie of the Year contention. The 22-year-old is almost guaranteed to pop out somewhere with a smile and a celebrity’s welcome from some of the biggest stars in sports and entertainment.
While Caitlin Clark will be using her offseason to elevate her golf game, Reese is continuing to refine her hoops game and is committed to playing in the inaugural season of the Unrivaled League which kicks off in January. Her “Unapologetically Angel” podcast keeps her very busy, and her latest interview featured NBA legend Dwyane Wade. Wade is from Chi-Town, and he’s also a part-owner of the Chicago Sky.
Reese has over 4 million social media followers and is one of the faces of the WNBA. She’s definitely the face of the Chicago Sky, who would probably be one of the least-attended WNBA venues if the double-double machine from LSU wasn’t there.
Why Didn’t Angel Reese Attend Chicago Sky Groundbreaking for New $38m Practice Facility?
With all of Reese’s activity — which only benefits the WNBA as she’s an ambassador for the league basically working for free in that capacity — she was noticeably absent from the Sky’s groundbreaking ceremony in Bedford Park, Illinois, on Wednesday.
The Sky announced new plans to build an upgraded $38 million practice facility, an exclusive 40,000 square-feet performance center for players and staff. While these plans have been in the works, Reese’s meteoric rise to fame and fortune, as well as her dominant rookie season, definitely sped up the process and elevated the excitement.
Several members of the Sky’s front office attended the ceremony, including principal owner Michael Alter, CEO Adam Fox, and general manager Jeff Pagliocca. Sky center Elizabeth Williams and forward Michaela Onyenwere were also in attendance.
Reese was oddly not there, and during the groundbreaking ceremony for the practice facility, which is expected to be completed in December 2025, the WNBA’s rebounding leader posted, “grass low snakes show…” and another message that read, “when they show you who they are the first time, BELIEVE THEM!.”
The posts were very cryptic and could be referring to anything Reese has going on in her life, but the timing of the Tweet was curious. Is Reese still angry with the organization for letting Teresa Weatherspoon go after one season?
She and Reese were very tight, and it can’t be denied that Weatherspoon helped Reese maximize her abilities and her style of play fit what Reese does well defensively and offensively. Or did the organization not invite Reese to be at the groundbreaking? If she wasn’t invited, then there’s more to this story than we understand right now.
Reese was admittingly devastated over Weatherspoon’s firing a few weeks ago. Reese wrote in a post on X on September 26 that has 14.9M views to this point that she was “heartbroken” over Weatherspoon’s exit. “You were the best reason & season. You didn’t deserve this but I can’t thank you enough. I love you Tspoon,” Reese posted.
Her response appears to be one of a star player who was not consulted at all on a coaching move that is going to seriously affect her career. Coaches getting the ax is part of the business of pro sports, but I doubt the Sky told Reese that Weatherspoon was only going to be there for one season.
Add in the fact that they were undermanned and in playoff contention until late in the season and the TSpoon-Reese combo was a winner with great potential. Weatherspoon was also only allowed one season to work with the Twin Towers of Reese and 6-foot-7 center Kamilla Cardoso.
Social media speculation centered on Reese’s followers trying to figure out who and what she was talking about.
One X user assumed she was referring Detroit Pistons player Jalen Duren, who Reese has been seen with on several occasions recently.
Who knows what Reese’s beef was about or who were the snakes in the grass she was referring to. If the Sky truly wants to continue to build the franchise, they definitely need to involve Chi-Barbie in everything and do cross-band collaborations with her sponsors such as Reebok and Mercedes-Benz and Reese’s Pieces.
There always seems to be some drama in the WNBA. Some disconnect between corporate and the stars that make the league go. Imagine the Indiana Fever having a groundbreaking for a new facility and Lexie Hull and NaLyssa Smith show up, but no Clark? Wouldn’t happen.
As the P.Diddy case continues to grow and reach into the world of sports and politics and even child endangerment, we are reminded that it isn’t just music and entertainment executives who use their power to abuse people and kids.
A married Blaine, Minnesota, mom was arrested after a “stay-cation” at a hotel with her husband and children early in 2024. Now she’s admitted to sexually abusing two 15-year-old hockey players visiting from Colorado for a tournament.
Allison Leaigh Schardin, 39, acknowledges that the victims were “young enough to be her kids.” She changed her initial plea and admitted to third-degree criminal sexual conduct, which is the crime of “engag[ing] in sexual penetration with anyone under 18 years of age”. Schardin is facing significant jail time when she’s sentenced on Jan. 10.
Shortly after initial reports of her arrest surfaced and Schardin was denying intercourse, social media named her the “Monster Mom of Minnesota”
According to reports, the plea puts to bed a disturbing and shocking case that began on Jan. 14. Schardin reportedly approached the victims in the hot tub of a hotel in Roseville after a heated argument with her husband and began complaining to these young boys about her rocky marriage and admitted to them that she had recently cheated on her husband with another hockey player, according to the complaint documents obtained by Law&Crime.
The boys involved are only listed as “V1” and “V2” in the reports.
The complaint cites V2, said that Schardin was on a “stay-cation” with her husband and kids when she entered the hot tub with the boys prior to her husband appearing and yelling something like “If you don’t come upstairs, our relationship is over.”
The couple was clearly on the ropes and when her husband gave her this ultimatum, according to VI, Schardin ignored him moved on to the pool and continued to fraternize with other 15 and 16-year-old boys, even exchanging “socials.” She allegedly later contacted V1 later via Snapchat and asked the minor, “Can I come into your room?”
The victim also accused of the 39-year-old married mother of telling them her age and expressing that “they were young enough to be her kids,” and that she was “saying things like, ‘let’s just do more,’ ‘let’s have sex,’ ‘we’re already here.’ She even asked the inexpereinced minors, who were hesitant to go all the way, ‘You already have a 38‐year‐old woman, a female in your bed, don’t you want to do more?’”
According to prosecutors, V1 recalled not really being attracted to Schardin or finding her offer enticing, at the same time he fell victim to pressure and curiosity and said “sure” to Schardin because he allegedly didn’t know how to say no to her.
Schardin was arrested on Feb. 1, alleging that the victims invited her to their room, as if that makes this any better. “She said that some of the younger boys invited her to their room, an invitation she accepted so she could get away from her husband,” the complaint added.
Schardin Admits To Pushing and Manipulating The Issue
Schardin didn’t, however, deny joining three minors in their quarters and engaging in consensual intercourse with them. Schardin claims that she asked if anyone had a condom, but says she wasnt going to actually complete the act.
“I think I just, things were starting to progress and, um, I think I thought about it for a moment and then I just was like, yeah, no, that’s not …, and I think at that point it was pretty evident that V1 was kind of uncomfortable,” the complaint said
If Schardin had left her discpicable act of sexual manipulation of minors at the hotel, maybe she would have gotten away with her crimes. Young boys tend to talk about experiences with older women, so it probably would have gotten out, but Schardin blew any chance of getting away with her episode with the two hockey players when the very next day, when the victims were playing hockey at a tournament, Schardin allegedly texted them in between periods to confirm their locations and she even showed up at the rink.
That is where everything turned “creepy” according to the boys. Schardin’s presence freaked them out during the game.
According to the complaint, “V1 said they all started getting nervous and he was shaking on the bench at one point because he wanted to leave what happened the night before in the past and she was trying to follow them, ‘it was really creepy,’” the minor said.
Even adults who commit heinous actions know when they’ve gone too far. According to reports, she tried to play damage control by keeping in contact with the Victims 1 and 2 after they returned home to Colorado, attempting to bribe them for their silence about the encounter.
Per report: “After returning to Colorado, SCHARDIN texted V1 saying words to the effect of, ‘I will do or say anything you want, just don’t tell the police or report what happened,’” the complaint said. “V1 responded that he didn’t want anything from her, that he wouldn’t report it and that she needed to leave him alone. He then blocked her. V1 does not know who made the report to police.”
Fans on social media overwhelmingly consider one of Dwight Howard‘s recent appearances on “Dancing With The Stars” a total flop. From the outfit to his dancing efforts.
One of the former NBA star’s latest performances led to a jokes; memes and comments about Howard’s ridiculous arrangement of outfit, hair and facial expressions.
The episode marked the return of “DWTS’ after a week off for the vice presidential debate, and regardless of the quality of his performance, Howard was the talk of the town after.
Prior to the competition, all contestants were deemed safe from elimination, so Howard and his miniature-sized partner Daniella Karagach went all in on their theme for the night, which was “Soul Train” and the tandem performed a cha-cha to “Let’s Groove” by Earth, Wind and Fire.
The choreography wasn’t bad, but the look was a miss. Especially the wig. The judges also ripped the routine. His biggest supporters were the audience who booed the scores and a few faithful followers on social media.
Everybody else indulged in the comedy. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba said that Howard’s performance was “hard to watch.”
She also told him to tone down his expressions while still enjoying his dancing. Guest judge Rosie Perez praised Howard’s passion but said he needed to improve his technique.
Judge Derek Hough gave Howard a low score of 5.
As difficult as it must be for the 5-foot-7 Karagach to put together a winning routine with the 6-foot-10 Howard, the eight-time NBA All-star was enthusiastic, energetic and very much into it.
The judges weren’t that impressed, however, as Howard and his partner received a score of 23 out of 40, which placed them near the bottom of the leaderboard.
Other competing athletes included rugby star Ilong Maher, former NFL receiver Danny Amendola and gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik, who were all able to accumulate 30 points.
Howard got a better score in his debut dancing salsa to a rendition of Montell Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It.”
His outfits got more love too.
Howard and Karagach performed a pasod to “Walk This Way” by Aerosmith on Tuesday night, and that routine also got much better response.
The unforgettable cha-cha performance continues to haunt him.
Clutch Point shared a funny photo of Howard with the caption, “Who’s this? Wrong answers only.”
Fans quickly started the joke barrage.
“Dwight Howard in His NATURAL form,” one X user said.
“Dwight Diddy” responded another fan who couldn’t refrain from his daily Diddy reference.
Another chimed in by calling Dwight “Puff Howard”
Fans tried desperately to use Howard’s appearance as proof of boiling hot rumors that he is bisexual.
“He not beating the allegations,” joked a fan.
The good thing about “DWTS” is that as long as you’re not eliminated you live to dance another day. It’s similar to pro sports in that way. Howard is a free spirit, so he won’t let some jokes on social media crush his confidence.
Former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh never stood a chance.
From the time Aaron Rodgers was traded to the Jets in April 2023, Saleh’s days with the franchise were numbered. Tuesday morning the embattled head coach, who was five games into his fourth season was relieved of his duties following the team’s 2-3 start.
If the Jets were looking for a scapegoat for their slow start, Saleh was the chosen one. While, the bulk of the blame will always fall on the head coach, in this case Saleh was far from the only guilty party. In fact, there are bigger reasons as to why the Jets have struggled miserably thus far this season.
Team owner Woody Johnson believes defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, who was elevated to interim head coach Tuesday, will bring a renewed energy in and around Florham Park, New Jersey, which is the home of the Jets training facility. Speaking with reporters following the firing, an enthusiastic Johnson said this, “This change, the change that we made today — that I made — I believe will bring new energy and positivity that will lead to more wins, starting now.”
Jonnson Is Optimistic, But Rodgers Is Running Jets
Saleh’s firing quickly brought out the fans who all along have believed the four-time MVP Rodgers is pulling the strings with the Jets. The team has gone out of its way to appease him in any way possible.
That has fans saying Rodgers was the culprit in Saleh’s dismissal.
“Rodgers really does make all the decisions on the team,” one social media user declared.
Another said, “Guarantee Aaron Rodgers got Robert Saleh fired.”
Is it not a coincidence that Saleh was fired after he reportedly demoted offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. The former Denver Broncos head coach is one of Rodgers’ closest friends and confidants.
Rodgers Wanted Saleh Gone
For weeks now you could see the marriage between Rodgers and Saleh would be short-lived and Rodgers would be the guy left standing. Years ago during an interview with Barstool’s Caleb Pressley, Rodgers was asked if he could fire his head coach, would he?
The future Hall of Famer, with a coy and sly smile, said “yes.”
That’s seemingly what happened Tuesday, and despite the aforementioned Johnson saying Rodgers had nothing to do with the move, it has his fingerprints all over it.
NBA player RJ Hampton hasn’t seen his career play out as he’d probably like. The former five-star prospect who chose to play overseas for a season instead of attending college, was a first-round pick of the Denver Nuggets in the 2020 NBA draft.
While he’s bounced around playing for four NBA teams and with multiple G-League affiliates, he has managed to stay connected to the league.
Currently a member of the Delaware Blue Coats, which is the G-League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, Hampton is in some hot water for a video that recently surfaced of Hampton berating his ex-girlfriend, whom he also shares a 13-month-old son with.
What’s arguably the most disturbing part of the video is how Hampton denied punching or slapping ex-Tiffany Jeffcoat but hasn’t denied putting hands on her in the past.
During the argument, which Jeffcoat filmed for her over 1.5 million TikTok followers, Hampton repeatedly called her out of her name, among other things. Jeffcoat claimed that she and the couple’s son Halo had traveled some 11 hours so he could see the son.
In the video, as Jeffcoat attempted to talk to Hampton, the former star at suburban Dallas’ Little Elm High School could be heard replying, “Shut the f— up talking to me, b—. I don’t care if you have me on recoding, I could care less.”
Jeffcoat also claimed that she has evidence of his alleged physical abuse, which Hampton didn’t exactly refute, saying, “Get the f— out of here with that s—. Who the f— is going to care about that… they’re bruises.”
Which Jeffcoat claimed came from Hampton physically abusing her.
Hampton’s response was pretty revealing:
“Of course they didn’t… did I punch you? Did I slap you? So shut the f— up.”
Jeffcoat insinuated that while Hampton did not punch her, he still put his hands on her.
“Just because you didn’t punch me doesn’t mean that’s ok. WOW…”
Jeffcoat reportedly called the police on Hampton after he allegedly disappeared with their son. Her claims were Hampton has never spent more than “30 minutes” with their child, so how would he know what to do with him.
“I’ve never in my life experienced anything like this and I pray that nobody else has to. All I have to say is be careful who you have a baby with,” Jeffcoat added.
If it’s one thing the NBA frowns upon it’s domestic violence, and from the sounds of it Jeffcoat is alleging that was an issue when she and Hampton dated. No matter what, the way Hampton talked to Jeffcoat in the video doesn’t help his cause in trying to prove his innocence. Now we’ll see how the Blue Coats decide to handle Hampton, who was once thought of as a basketball prodigy.
At some point these professional athletes have to be smarter about who they date and who they have children with as well.
The life of a wealthy athlete isn’t always glamorous. In the same way that one’s superstardom attracts the adulation of people, it also attracts scammers with nefarious and greedy intentions. Former Houston Rockets star Chandler Parsons, a player with an estimated net worth of $60 million, fell victim to an intricate scam costing him $1 million. All along, he thought he was helping NBA player James Wiseman.
The story is an incredible and ruthless example of how shamelessly hard scammers will go to violate and exploit the trust of the most experienced and financially savvy athletes.
Calvin Darden Jr., a businessman from Georgia, was convicted in a New York court for being the brainchild of elaborate scams that gained athletes’ trust and then defrauded them. Chandler Parsons is one of Darden’s victims.
Darden’s schemes reportedly targeted elite athletes with big bank. In this particular scheme Darden, who prosecutors describe as a “master manipulator,” was in cahoots with a sports agent to swindle Parsons into transferring $1 million under the false pretense that it would support the future development of former No. 2 overall draft pick in 2020, James Wiseman, who has had some challenges on and off the court fulfilling his promise.
According to Larry Neumeister of The Associated Press, prosecutors stated, “Darden also teamed up with a sports agent to fool Parsons.”
Parsons was not the only victim of Darden’s wickedness.
During a September episode of his podcast “Above the Rim With DH12,” former NBA star and current “Dancing With The Stars” contestant Dwight Howard revealed that he was taken by his agent Chris Briscoe and Darden for “$7 million,” in a scheme in which they convinced him he was a part of an ownership team purchasing the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream.
“It was a part of the agent,” Howard revealed. “What was my mentality? My mental was I wanted to find him and beat the h*ll out of him. Like, I wanted to kill him. My plan that I had was, I was looking to buy the Atlanta Dream. The basketball team for women.”
Howard is worth an estimated $140 million. His two daughters were born in 2010 and had a goal to buy into the team and then have his daughters play for the franchise one day,
“So we put this little group together, and at the time, the NBA — because I was still playing — said that I couldn’t own the team outright myself,” he described. “I was like, ‘OK, I can have a group and be the face of the team for now, and then I could be behind the scenes making all the decisions and stuff like that.”
Howard says the scam was so elaborate that he even talked to the GM and owners of the team, but things went left shortly after.
“They took the money, and I hardly ever heard from them again. … He kept saying, ‘Man, they won’t call me back now. I can’t get in contact with them.’ I was like, ‘Man, you’re lying. What’s going on?’”
Darden reportedly spent $6.1 million of Howard’s dough to purchase luxury items, including a Lamborghini, a $110,000 piano, $90,000 in watches, a down payment on a $3.7 million home, and hundreds of thousands in fine art and home upgrades.
Brisco and Darden scammed Howard to perfection.
“I really trusted this agent,” Howard said. “But these agents, these lawyers, all these people — they are scheming, they be lying, and they all have the same motive: to take from you. So it’s like you really can’t trust anybody,” Howard said.
In March 2023, as reported in a previous TSL story, “Howard’s former agent, Charles Briscoe, was arrested on felony charges, including wire fraud and identity theft. Briscoe and his co-conspirators allegedly used the $7 million for personal expenditures. In February Brisoe pleaded guilty to federal wire fraud conspiracy charges but avoided prison time.”
Darden was one of the co-conspirators in that scam. During trial Howard reportedly testified about how Darden convinced him that the funds were for an investment to purchase the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream. When news of the actual sale hit, Howard said: “I got a slap in the face.”
Darden is dealing with extensive legal fallout from his illegal exploitations of these high-powered athletes.
According to reports, Darden previously faced legal troubles for impersonating his father in a failed venture. These new blemishes have positioned him for a potential sentence of 11 to 14 years in prison. With all of the evidence firmly against him, Darden chose to deny a plea deal and fight the chargers in court. He failed, but that doesn’t return the money that was stolen to Parsons or Howard.
High school football, especially in the South, is like a religion, and many games are high stakes with plenty of emotion.
That emotion got the best of an Alabama high school quarterback, who was kicked off of his team following a postgame altercation. On Friday, a fight broke out in the stands following Citronelle’s 14-7 win over UMS-Wright.
Reportedly, Chris Edmunds, the father of Citronelle quarterback Daylon Edmunds, got into a fight with the father of another player. Daylon, who reportedly is an A student but clearly has the same energy as his father, ran off the field area and rushed into the melee, striking the parent, Stephen Byrd, before people in the crowd broke up the fight.
New video of the incident shows how the event unfolded. It began with Byrd and Edmunds exchanging verbal jabs. Byrd lunges toward Edmunds near the bottom of the stands and the two get into a tussling match, with one man struggling between the two, apparently trying to break it up and subdue Byrd.
The fight is briefly broken up and then more punches are thrown as Edmunds retaliates and starts throwing punches to the top of Byrd’s head. Citronelle quarterback Daylon Edmunds enters the fracas and delivers a blow to Byrd’s face in defense of his father.
The aftermath of this embarrassing and unfortunate event won’t sit well with Daylon and his father. Citronelle Police Chief Chris McLean told News 5 Sports and WKRG’s Simone Eli, that both adults were charged and arrested for disorderly conducted before posting bond.
“While this is a disappointing situation, it is not a reflection of the Citronelle community, school and football program. Coach Jason Rowell has worked hard to build the Wildcat program the right way — this was a situation in the stands between individuals who chose to begin a fight,” McLean said Monday.
Citronelle told Daylon Edmunds that he’s no longer part of the team, and school administrators decided to also suspend him from school for five days.
Chris Edmunds accepted his responsibility in the fight, but he vehemently disagrees with the school’s decision to remove Daylon from the team.
“I think it’s too harsh of a punishment for a kid who has never been in trouble,” Chris Edmunds told WKRG. “He’s a straight-A student. I’m not saying he shouldn’t be held accountable, but I think it’s overboard to remove him from the football team.”
Brad Lowell, the Mobile County Public Schools District athletics director, issued a statement to WKRG.
“We are aware of a minor altercation that took place after the game,” Lowell said. “We take these matters seriously. We are investigating and will handle it in accordance with our policies and procedures.”
McLean said it will be Mobile County Public School’s decision if Edmunds and Byrd are permitted on campus.
With Alabama’s college powerhouse suffering possibly the worst loss in school history, falling 40-35 on Saturday to Vanderbilt, a team who never had a win against an AP No. 1-ranked program in history (entered 0-10 all-time), you can say it’s been a rough week for football in the state of Alabama.
Now that the hype and the social media storm has subdued until 2025, the Indiana Fever have to decide how they will construct the team around Caitlin Clark as three of the Fever’s 12 players will make free agency decisions in the 2024 offseason, including guard Kelsey Mitchell.
Kelsey Mitchell made $206,000 last season and will be turning 29 in her seventh WNBA season. She led the team in scoring in the postseason (19.0 ppg) and in many key games during the season.
She was the perfect two-guard to Clark, making the rookie’s transition into the WNBA much smoother thanks to Mitchell’s individual scoring abilities. Mitchell’s offensive explosions carried the team when Clark’s shot was off and also allowed Clark to focus on passing and creating for others.
There’s been rumors that Mitchell is not happy with her current role on the Indiana Fever and being that she is at the peak of her career, she might want to move on and away from the circus surrounding Clark and the social media negativity.
As one Facebook User from a popular Indiana Fever fan page wrote: “Kelsey Mitchell and Erica Wheeler are out of Indiana.”
That would be a devastating loss, considering the chemistry between CC and Mitchell, as well as center Alliyah Boston’s improved play, elevated Indiana from a 1-8 start to a 19-12 finish and future title contender.
Erica Wheeler is 33 years old and in her ninth WNBA season. She was an effective leader but averaged a career low 3.6 points per game and won’t be playing a huge role in the guard rotation as the Clark Era moves forward. Plus, she made a whopping $222,154 last season.
The Fever need to do everything they can to retain their “Big Three” of Clark, Boston and Mitchell, while adding some more athleticism; some shooting and rim-running finishers capable of thriving in transition and capitalizing off Clark’s court vision.
While the Fever were the third-highest scoring team in the league, averaging 85 per game, their overall defense ranked second-to-last in the league, allowing a whopping 87.7 points per game. Only the Dallas Wings were worse, allowed over 92 points per game. There are some height deficiencies that need to be addressed.
The Indiana Fever hired Amber Cox as the team’s chief operating officer and general manager on Friday to replace current GM Lin Dunn, who will move into a new position as a senior adviser for the team.
Cox’s first order of operations needs to be surrounding Clark with more 3-and-D talent and some two-way physical wings.
NaLyssa Smith and Boston are a formidable interior tandem, but another post presence that can block shots and also shoot from the perimeter like restricted free agent Temi Fagbenle would also help.
Slick-shooting guard Lexie Hull averaged 5.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.1 assists through 19.7 minutes per game, but she moved into the starting rotation late in the season and provided reliable three-point shooting. She also has a good relationship with Clark, but the verdict is out on whether or not she makes the cut. If not, she should be snatched up by the expansion team.
Naturally, the Fever have all three of their picks in the WNBA draft, but currently won’t know where they fall in the selection process until the WNBA announces the draft picks for the expansion Golden State Valkyries.
The expansion draft for the new 2025 WNBA franchise the Golden State Valkyries will be held Dec. 6, the first expansion draft since 2008 when the Atlanta Dream entered the league. With franchises in Portland and Toronto on the horizon, this will be a historical draft for WNBA expansion.
All 12 teams can protect up to six players each, while all others will be available for selection.
The players who are available for selection include any athlete each franchise holds rights to as of the end of the 2024 season. The Valkyries will choose one player from each team and one 2024 unrestricted free agent. According to reports, they will be able to make trades in exchange for not drafting someone.
As Clark enters the second season of her rookie-scale deal, her salary will still only rank eighth among the nine players currently on the Fever’s books for 2025.
The Fever go into the offseason with over $650,000 in cap space. Some will be used to sign draft picks to fill out next season’s roster.
Overall, in 2025, a regular max salary is $214,466 while a supermax contract begins at $249,244. With an impending salary cap increase, Indiana could be positioning itself for an offseason of huge moves.
Ogwumike is a 12-year vet who is one of the best 3-and-D players in the WNBA. She can defend, she has a deadly mid-range game and can shoot the three if that’s what you need. She only took two per game this season but shot it at 40.5 percent while averaging 16.6 points per game for her career. Ogwumike, who made $204,500 last season, can replace Wheeler’s leadership and considerably strengthen the team. She also brings a toughness the team lacks.
MHA was a beast on the boards and capable around the rim for Minnesota, which is currently trying to advance to the WNBA Final and faces a Game 5 against the Connecticut Sun in the WNBA semifinals. She can score and rebound and is the kind of role player you need coming off the bench or starting that has a big frame — 6 feet 1, 200 pounds — and provides protection for Clark.
If you’re looking for a guard who can replace the energy, scoring production and explosion to the basket that Mitchell brings, it’s Chennedy Carter, who was the lone consistent scoring force for the Chicago Sky. Carter led the Sky, averaging 17.5 points per game, while adding 3.5 rebounds and 3 assists, She also shot over 47 percent from the floor.
She’s just blossoming in her fifth season, so her ceiling has not been reached. Imagine her and Clark in transition. Despite her run-ins with Clark on the court during the season and being a teammate of Angel Reese, Carter would make a seamless transition to playing with the Fever and her role as a lightning-quick basket attacker, strong defender and supportive teammate could serve Clark well.
The Cardi B saga that Houston Texans wide receiver Stefon Diggs was dragged into due to DJ Akademiks saying that while pregnant Cardi once cheated on her rapper husband Offset with a famous NFL receiver who’s known for breaking up happy homes, has taken on a life of its own, and social media fans just can’t leave it alone.
Neither can DJ Akademiks.
After admitting to “talking to other men” while pregnant with Offset’s child, Cardi B was immediately linked to the Houston Texans wide receiver. Akademiks never named Diggs, but he did state he had him in his fantasy team and he scored a touchdown over the weekend.
Apparently, Diggs has a well-known reputation in the sports underground celebrity world that is really coming to light now.
An old video of the wide receiver — who has reportedly been in a steady relationship with actress Tae Heckard since 2019 — discussing Cardi B, further fueled the fire.
Diggs was talking to a reporter about a ribald Cardi B song that he enjoyed, “WAP.” When asked to break down the acronym, Diggs replied, “Ask Cardi B.”
Now, Akademiks is making even more shocking claims this week.
On his livestream, Akademiks stated Stefon Diggs is having sexual relations with girlfriends of other rappers aside from Offset.
Akademiks, who is always pushing things to the limit, also suggested Diggs could end up with a bullet and body bag for his actions after claiming that the player is sexually involved with at least two other women who are attached to men who “are about that life.”
“They said Cardi B was catching Offset doing all types of bullsh– and basically when Cardi B was like eight month pregnant, Offset went through her phone and caught her texting some dog ass n–ga named Stefon Diggs. Some football player. Im going to be honest with you I heard that name f—ing five other n–gas b–hes. Its kinda crazy. That n–ga is the b–ch f–er. He done f–ked everybody hoe in the game.”
Then Akademiks went on to give his opinion on how women retaliate when they are cheated on.
“Which is kind of ironic because every time your girl want to get her lick back, they go to the biggest hoe. They complain about you being a hoe then n–ga they try to get with is a bigger hoe. It doesn’t make sense, but it’s typical female sh–t.”
After pushing the narrative that Cardi B fed by not initially denying it, Akademiks then said: “I heard Cardi didn’t f–k the n–ga, but she was texting…”
His contradictory statements angered some social media users, with one woman saying:
“They went from she f-cked while pregnant to actually she only texted and only flirted
TFW men”
It’s too late to stop the social media speculation, however. The cat is out of the bag as far as everyone is concerned.
“That’s why none of his teammates wanted him to date their sister,” another X user joked.
The Cardi B and Offset saga creates a lot of energy and excitement on social media and keeps both of their brands on front street. Cardi B never met a lick of drama that she didn’t embrace and use to elevate herself.
Offset has been struggling to find purpose since Migos broke up, he lost his cousin Takeoff to gun violence and the relationship between him and Quavo became fractured.
He’s been continuously caught cheating and attempting to have side pieces “flow out” for sexual liaisons throughout the course of their six-year marriage, which has evolved into a dysfunctional but highly lucrative soap opera.
Cardi probably could have ended this entire ordeal by just denying the accusation about Diggs, because she’s so open with everything else.
Also, when accused by Offset of cheating while pregnant with their third child, she appeared to confirm Offset’s claim by posting “AND DID !!!!!!” on X.
Cardi B did not deny she has been with other men, as she has admitted to talking to some people since June.
She didn’t deny any accusations and instead chose to open up further about the dark secrets of their relationship in an attempt to smear Offset’s name further and exonerate herself from whatever may have or not happened.
She pulled no punches.
Cardi wrote on X, “You know what I find so crazy?”
“That a ni–a thinks that they can just buy a bi**h. I love me sh-t, but you can’t buy me no more, muthaf–ka. It’s so crazy that a ni–a thinks that that’s enough. It’s not enough, honey.”
Cardi continued: “I find it funny that ni–as think that they can f–k on anything, but when I start talking to ni–as, you want to threaten me with taking sht that I f–king worked my a– off for. You want to play those games with me? We gon’ play them games, too. You want to take my sht because I’m moving on? Move on. Why can’t you move on?”
According to Akademiks on his podcast “Off The Record,” the 32-year-old media personality found messages between his girlfriend and NBA guard Danny Green back in 2019.
“It was Danny Green,” Akademiks said after revealing who the potential relationship-wrecker was. “He was on the Toronto Raptors. And by the way, that was the year they won the championship, so he’s on fire. He’s thinking any girl he hit is gonna be [down]. He’s messaging her, whatever.”
In a fit of admitted jealousy, Akademiks sent a DM snitching on Green to Green’s wife, Blair Bashen, whom he married in 2021.
Is Stefon Diggs A Serial Wife-Smasher?
Diggs used to be known as an elite wide receiver who often had run-ins with his quarterback because he was a prima donna who felt he should always be targeted. He left the Buffalo Bills because of his contentious relationship with quarterback Josh Allen.
His new team, the Houston Texans, is 4-1, in first place in the AFC South, and looking like a title contender under the leadership of QB C.J. Stroud. After snagging six balls for 82 yards on eight targets against his former team in a 23-20 nail-biter on Sunday, Diggs is riding a high that even a narrative about him being this super playboy and disgruntled wife snatcher can’t shake.
Who knew he also was an assassin off the field?
Bronny James made his highly anticipated NBA preseason debut on Friday. The 55th pick of the 2024 NBA Draft finished with a modest two points and three blocks.
While Bronny didn’t fill up the stat sheet, he did show the athleticism and basketball IQ that’s long been associated with his last name. Bronny and his legendary dad also became the first father-son duo to take an NBA floor together in Sunday’s preseason matchup against the Phoenix Suns, a 118-114 Lakers loss.
LeBron finished with 19 points in just 16 minutes before sitting out the second half. Bronny played 13 minutes, going 1 for 6 from the field, didn’t score
“It was cool for both of us, especially our family,” LeBron James, 39, said. “It’s definitely a moment I’ll never forget.
Following Bronny’s performance, the naysayers were once again out in full force.
Some questioned if he belonged in the NBA, and others wondered once again made reference to him only being drafted because of who his legendary father is. In response, LeBron quickly took to Instagram to defend his son, and he even predicted how Bronny’s career would play out despite the doubters.
“Y’all quick to judge my boy Bronny already??? Nah, let him work! He’s gonna SHINE in this league, believe that! Future HOF no doubt, hate it or love it, the work speaks for itself. Thanasis got Giannis, Bronny got ME!”
To hear LeBron use Thanasis in the same sentence as Bronny is odd considering no one really cares about him, but Bronny will always be a polarizing figure under extreme scrutiny because of how LeBron and his team pulled the strings to get him drafted.
In retrospect Bronny could end being a solid NBA player, but being Hall of Famer is farfetched. While Bronny won’t say it, his face says let me play and figure this out without something constantly being said in defense of me after every game.
Bronny will have to find his own way, and while it may not come now because his dad is still playing, LeBron won’t play forever.
First-year Lakers head coach JJ Redick spoke candidly about Bronny after the game, and as expected he talked about where he is both offensively and defensively.
“He can do some things defensively at his size that are really unique, and can, I think turn into a really disruptive defender,” Redick said after the game, a 124-107 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. “On the offensive end, he’s still kind of figuring out who he is, and that’s our job as a development program just to build him up. But I like what I saw from Bronny.”
“Truthfully, he’s so easy to coach, and he’s got a great soul and just a great energy about him. I like being around him, and I’m rooting for him. He’s a good player that we are happy to have in our program,” Redick added.
Sounds about right, because as of now Bronny flashes on the defensive end, while his offense is still a work in progress. It was the same way during his one season at USC, where he missed a huge chunk of the season after suffering cardiac arrest during the summer of 2023.
On Sunday, Bronny, the oldest of LeBron’s three children, turned 20, and to say it’s a milestone birthday is being modest. Especially when you factor in the aforementioned health scare in 2023.

As the WNBA playoffs rages on, Angel Reese has settled into her offseason brand turnup and in addition to her many public appearances, brand collaborations with companies such as Mercedes Benz and Reese’s Pieces, the Chicago Sky star’s “Unapologetically Angel” podcast offered another big dawg interview in former Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls star Dwyane Wade.
While the comparisons between Reese and Clark are inevitable because of the players’ popularity and history as adversaries in some of the biggest games in women’s college basketball history, Wade reiterated the point that they are very different on the court, outside of their shared winning mentality.
“Ultimately, y’all are different players,” Wade said. “You’re gonna bring different things to the game. But the way the game is viewed, y’all are the marketing tool that got the newer generation, newer eyes, kinda excited about her versus her.”
The comparisons between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese have never been applicable when it comes to style of play. Clark is a multi-talented scorer with prolific range and controls the tempo of the game.
Reese is a defensive specialist who focuses on her gift of rebounding at a higher rate than anybody in WNBA history. Her 13.6 points per game didn’t come via hoisting up long range daggers at an all-time rate or dominating the ball. She has a knack for finding the ball, getting to the line and controlling the energy of the game with her leadership and tenacity.
Wade says that their differences only enhance the competition, because their fans have specific tastes and appreciate them for very specific reasons.
“We like a versus. We all like a versus. So you guys had a versus that kinda got everybody in it. and it was good for the game, at the right time.”
A versus. Villain vs. Hero. Good vs. Evil. Black vs. White. We get what Wade means. Not just the phenomenon that started during COVID, where all-time classic artists got together within the proper guidelines of COVID interaction and ran off their greatest hits in a competition/exhibition of musical therapy for the millions of people stuck inside their homes.
The NBA is based on those personal rivalries. People are invested in those kinds of relationships. It drives pro sports. The LeBron vs. Jordan vs. Kobe debate has raged on for decades and continues to be a hotspot for explosive sports talk interaction.
The comparisons are so emotionally charged and personally invested that relationships can fracture, and people draw lines in the sand and every discussion becomes political.
When WNBA players complained about social media’s increased racist and misogynistic, sexist and homophobic attacks on players and labeled Clark fans as the culprits, WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert denounced the behavior but, more important, she reiterated the need for rivalries similar to Larry Bird vs. Magic Johnson.
Wade’s point was that it’s a necessary evil that equals big business and both Reese and Clark are acknowledged by anybody looking from the outside, as the catalysts to the WNBA explosion. Without their fan bases’s hate for each other, much less people would even care.
According to the WNBA, the league attracted an all-time record of more than 54 million unique viewers across ABC, CBS, ESPN, ESPN2, ION and NBA TV. A record 22 regular-season game telecasts averaged at least 1 million viewers.
The season was consumed for a record 136.29 million hours across all national networks. The Clark and Reese effects were felt. This was the most-viewed regular season ever across ESPN platforms with an average of 1.19 million viewers, a 170 percent increase from last season. The 2024 season featured the top seven most-watched WNBA games ever on ESPN.
CBS had its five highest-viewed games ever, led by 2.25 million viewers for the Chicago Sky at Indiana on June 16.
Floyd Mayweather’s excess and lavish lifestyle is always on display as he earned his nickname “Money” years ago and continues to accumulate wealth.
Floyd has had his share of legal issues over the years, some involving domestic violence, that he’s been able to avoid and rectify with the almighty dollar. Mayweather’s latest quandary has the undefeated boxer facing a lawsuit from a group of exotic dancers who worked at his Las Vegas strip club, Girl Collection.
They alleged that “Money Mayweather” ran an oppressive and violent work environment. The lawsuit also claims that Mayweather underpaid the dancers and even publicly slapped one of them. The lawsuit was filed in Clark County, Nevada, and represents all of the strippers who have ever worked at the club.
Per reports, Mayweather co-owns the strip club with his sister, Deltricia Howard. A portion of his exorbitant income comes from the club. The dancers claim that Mayweather and Howard classified them as independent contractors instead of employees, which meant they didn’t get paid minimum wage for their hours.
According to the Plaintiffs, they were forced to hand over a percentage of their tips and pay out extra fees to other staff from their hard-earned wages, which their legal team claims violates the Fair Labor Standards Act.
In the lawsuit, it is alleged that Mayweather had control over when dancers could leave, and he also determined how much of their tips the club would keep.
Moreover, the dancers claimed that Mayweather and his sister often threatened and intimidated them. That vicious behavior continued they say, especially after the dancers attempted to file a federal lawsuit last year.
The lawsuit describes an incident after Woodward’s shift on April 23, 2023. She says that she approached Mayweather about “failure to pay her for the shifts that she worked earlier in the weekend,” and was met with “[a slap in the face] in front of other dancers and customers on the floor of the club,” according to TMZ.
Her attorneys also wrote in the suit that she ran to the locker room in tears and Mayweather followed after her, shouting she “could not take a joke.”
Brittany Strauss, another dancer from the nightclub, joined the suit as a plaintiff in support of Woodward’s assault and battery claims.
Mayweather attorney Felton Newell told The Athletic that the boxer “vehemently denies the allegations” and “looks forward to the opportunity to prove in court that these allegations are false.”
Sounds like a bit more going on here than just a strip club. Not saying at all that Mayweather and his sister were involved in the sex business or a strip club/brothel, but the management stye described by the strippers doesn’t make the club sound like one of Mayweather’s more reputable businesses.
Car washes, Strip clubs, dive bars, massage parlors — all great places to wash money. All places where owners treat workers terribly and often use them as expendable pawns in a game to circumvent tax laws and gain a financial advantage.
According to reports, the previous case was dismissed, but it has now been brought to state court, elevated in intensity and criminality with an additional claim that Mayweather physically assaulted one of the dancers.
Mayweather has never been shy about promoting his strip club and he seems to draw no lines when it comes to interacting with his workers. At one point, “Money May” even dated one of his strip club dancers, who was a decade younger than him.
Brit-American Anna Monroe was in a relationship with Floyd Mayweather for a brief period. There were reports that they were even engaged, as they jet-setted around the world and Mayweather lavished her with gifts.
However, that didn’t last long. Currently, the boxing legend has been in a relationship with Gallienne Nabila since 2021.
No need to open old wounds or attack Mayweather’s character, but his history with past relationships hasn’t been the smoothest. There’s a pattern there, which suggests that the way his dancers say they were treated can’t be dismissed without a proper investigation.
Floyd has always been an enigma of sorts. You cannot escape the domestic abuse conviction when mentioning Floyd Mayweather’s name.
He served a 90-day jail sentence and was ordered to complete 100 hours of community service, a 12-month domestic-violence program and pay a hefty fine. Damage was reportedly done not only to his child’s mother, but also psychologically to the children according to court documents.
What makes it worse is that Mayweather is very well known for his objectification of women, routinely parading them around like a flock of peacocks that he disregards just as quickly. It does nothing to help his reputation and dismiss the memory of the domestic violence charge. And with the opening of his gentleman’s club, Girl Collection, in Las Vegas, it was clear that he had no issue with how his actions create a negative brand towards femininity.
Mayweather’s reputation has escaped the long arm of the law since that incident, but now these new allegations are surfacing that cast a dark light on one of his proudest endeavors.

In the meantime, Mayweather who recently put his 2017-purchased French Modern-style Beverly Hills mansion on the market for $48M will continue to get in the ring for an exhibition when the money is right, promote rising star Gervontae “Tank” Davis and roll with the punches.
