Deion Sanders appeared on ESPN’s “First Take” on Friday during media week leading up to Super Bowl 60 between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots, to let the world know that after what happened to his son Shedeur Sanders last year in Cleveland, he has lost his taste for NFL coaching.
Coach Prime was asked about his possible future as an NFL head coach, considering his name was tossed around as a potential match in Dallas prior to Jerry Jones hiring Brian Schottenheimer.
He says he has no interest.
“None whosoever. What transpired with my son last year. Ain’t no way in the world. I don’t have a…” Deion said, before gathering himself and thanking the Lord then bursting out in laughter with Ryan Clark, who was just trying his best to avoid a regrettable disaster.
“That doesn’t mean I’m at a loss for words,” Deion clarified. “That’s means God’s saying …you can’t talk like that. I know you’re comfortable with your brothers here, but you can’t say that.”
The panelists, including Cam Newton got a big kick out of Coach Prime’s response. We all know the trials and tribulations that he has endured personally over the past season, including cancer surgery, dealing with the character assassination of his son Shedeur that led to a drop to the fifth round, and lacking success on the yield with the Colorado Buffs and dealing with that backlash.
With anything that Shedeur or Deion says these days, fans on all sides of the spectrum get triggered.
“If I’m prime I’d do absolutely NOTHING WITH OR FOR the nfl,” said one fan supporting Deion and Shedeur.
Other fans attacked Deion’s inconsistent record in three seasons at Colorado as an indictment against hsi ability to coach pros.
“Don’t think an NFL team would want anything to do with him anyway. He has been mid af at Colorado lol
“Has this dude put anyone good in the league? Trash ass coach always running his big ass mouth,” said another hostile fan on X.
“He is my football GOAT but he wasn’t going to the NFL anyway with those last few seasons he had lmao. This is what got Shedeur in hot shit in the first place,” said one netizen.
“Well that’s because he’s a terrible coach,” chirped another.
One fan told Deion not to worry about it because from the looks of things he doesn’t fit the prototype they are looking for to be a head coach.
“Deion u just seen wat happened this coaching cycle with the black coaches, them folks not worried bout u..,” advised one fan on X.
Above all, Coach Prime didn’t have to say much during the season. There were enough people, analysts and football minds who were very critical of the lack of encouragement and preparation Shedeur received during his rookie season with the Browns.

Anyone could have guessed that Deion wasn’t thrilled about the ordeal Shedeur went through. Especially after Team Sanders listed the Browns as a team they would not want to get drafted too. The way no teams wanted his son Shilo has to hurt too. It was almost like a bad nightmare if you look at everything the Sanders family encountered and overcame in 2025. Probably unexplainable, which is why Sanders is just letting a higher power take control.
Reporter Mary Kay Cabot is one of the leading voices when it comes to all things pertaining to the Cleveland Browns. She’s been all over the Shedeur Sanders situation and let’s just say she is one of the many who are still unconvinced that Sanders will or should be handed the keys to the kingdom in 2026.
Cabot discussed the Browns’ quarterback options on The Ken Carman show on Thursday, and she seems to believe that unproven quarterback Malik Willis would be a good free agent option for the Browns and new head coach Todd Monken.
“I would definitely be looking at Malik Willis. He’s somebody I said the Browns should draft in 2022. We know Todd Monken prefers a dual threat QB…It’s very interesting both him and Andrew Berry are definitely open to bringing someone else in,” she said.”
According to sources, Willis will be one of the top names in free agency as quarterbacks of any caliber are always a hot commodity. Sportrac currently has his projected market value at a 2-year/$71M contract ($35.5M/year).
Willis has played in 22 games in four years with the Tennessee Titans and the Green Bay Packers. He’s only started six games. He didn’t throw a touchdown until his third year in the NFL as a backup for Jordan Love. He’s thrown a total of six touchdowns in his career.
Not sure what Mary Kay is smoking to think that Cleveland, who is already indebted to Deshaun Watson’s $230M guaranteed and has several young quarterbacks with potential under their control, would want to pay Willis $35M, when he isn’t better than Shedeur Sanders who you already made it through the rocky waters with.
With the exception of some staunch Shedeur Sanders haters, most fans found Cabot’s Malik Willis scenario comical. A stretch at best.
“So the Browns should spend like $35M a year on Willis while they’re already gonna be spending $46M on Deshaun Watson,” asked one perplexed netizen on X.
This is a very Cleveland Browns move to make. The Cleveland media’s insistence on confusing the Browns’ QB situations with silly reports and creating insane narratives that attempt to devalue Shedeur Sanders’ worth as a football player is downright dumb.
However, you have those who believe that reporters such as Cabot are delivering truthful, inside information.
“Been saying this. He’s the best option if they decide to bring another QB in,” said one fan agreeing with Cabot’s master plan.
Most Cleveland fans just want a winner. They want the franchise to choose a direction, get out of the media circus game and start producing on the field. Whispers about Malik Willis and Deshaun Watson’s return doesn’t help anyone.
“I think we need to let Shedeur be the QB1 next season. Build an OL and WRs around him and let him develop,” another fan who was making way too much sense for Shedeur haters responded. “We gotta start learning to be patient with QBs.”
“Good luck with that…yep be stupid and focus on another QB. When you should be focusing on a new line and WRs. But history says the Browns know better,” quipped another disappointed fan.
“Typical Browns media/fans idiocy Willis STINKS. So he had a good fill-in game? So what? He’s a backup for a good reason. Better to just go with more Shedeur and see if Monken can develop him,” another pro-Shedeur fan insisted.
Cabot’s possible Browns move didn’t seem sensible to most fans, who insisted that the quarterback will be joining the NY Jets or the Miami Dolphins.
“Deshuan and Malik have the same agent and Malik is definitely out of the budget. Mary will be reaching,” said another fan, dismissing the possibility of Willis coming to Cleveland.
“Last thing we need is another mediocre QB to add to the QB room chaos,” another fan said,
Shedeur Sanders seemed to lock down the job entering 2026. Todd Monken made it his business to meet Shedeur personally his first day at the Cleveland facility. We all can just see that for the first time ever the spotlight is on Cleveland, and it seems that the local media and some pockets of fans want to do everything possible to keep the chaos and the losing times going.
In December 1961, the Cleveland Browns traded Bobby Mitchell to the Washington Football Team (Redskins). The move elevated Mitchell to barrier-breaking status as the first Black player in franchise history, while also making Washington the last team in the NFL to integrate.

During his seven years as a player for Washington, he became one of the greatest to suit up for the burgundy and gold, by amassing (6,930 total yards) and 51 touchdowns while averaging 16.5 per reception. He was the epitome of “big play.”
He was voted to three consecutive Pro Bowls from 1962-64, while posting at least (900 receiving yards) in four seasons.
In the team’s 1962 opener which was Mitchell’s first game, he had a historical performance versus the Cowboys with (227 all-purpose yards) and two touchdowns. Mitchell led the team in receiving yards and was the focal point of Washington’s offense against the archrival Cowboys. In this game alone he accounted for 47% of the team’s offense, while quickly showing the league the receiving threat he would pose for years to come.
In 1966, Mitchell made Washington history again in a road game at the Eagles. Mitchell surpassed Hugh Taylor’s (5,233 yards) to become the franchise leader in receiving yards. He finished his career with (6,942 receiving yards), which ranks fifth behind Art Monk, Charley Taylor, Gary Clark and Santana Moss. Mitchell received his “Gold Jacket” as he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame in 1983.
Mitchell was blessed with exceptional speed, uncanny faking ability and balance. Following his 11-year playing career, Mitchell spent 34 years with the Washington Football team in a variety of roles. Those roles included scout, and assistant general manager. He won three Super Bowls in those roles.
Mitchell should always be remembered for his play on the field, but he should be equally celebrated for his dedicated activism off the field to pave the way for generations to come. He even stood behind Muhammad Ali when the boxing legend refused to enlist in the draft.
Bobby was a true legend, who was an incredible player, talented executive and a real gentleman to whom he worked with or competed against. His passion for the game of football was unmatched, and he’ll go down as one of the greatest and most influential individuals in Washington Football team history.
As Super Bowl Sunday inches closer and closer the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots are preparing to play the biggest games of their lives. Two teams many didn’t see in this situation when the season began have made their way to the penultimate game of the 2025 NFL season.
While the game will be watched by millions, the big question is how many tune into the Super Bowl halftime show which is being performed by Puerto Rican rapper, singer and record producer Bad Bunny. The announcement of “The King of Latin Trap” as the performer was received with mixed reviews, and one person who’s definitely not in favor of the selection is legendary NFL running back Eric Dickerson.
Dickerson, the former Los Angeles Rams legend who still holds the single season rushing record (2,105) yards recently spoke with TMZ at the airport in San Francisco (site of Super Sunday) and he didn’t sugarcoat anything he said.
When asked if he’d changed his opinion on the Bad Bunny choice, Dickerson who’s been very critical of the decision doubled down on it.
“Why couldn’t we get somebody right here from home? How about someone from right here in San Francisco and get these artists right here in the area to play at the Super Bowl? Somebody that speaks English. I don’t know if it’s going to be in Spanish or whatever. What sense does that make?”
Bad Bunny’s extreme popularity has included a two-year run (2020-22) as Spotify’s most-streamed artist. With viewers from different parts of the world tuning into one of the highest-viewed events of the year Dickerson could care less and he let that be known.
This whole Bad Bunny drama is only because certain people in this country can’t hide their prejudices. While the Trump administration takes its bruises for speaking out against Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance as “ICE” agents which is expected to be in Spanish, Dickerson is among the legion of people who are against the performance because they feel that the Super Bowl is an American event and should feature at the very least, artists that sing in American.
It’s pretty silly when you think about it. The Super Bowl halftime show is one of the most hyped events in sports. It’s also going to be impossible to top Kendrick Lamar’s Drake diss with Serena Williams crip-walking to “Not Like Us.”
“Puerto Rico is not America,” Dickerson continued. “It’s a territory. You don’t have the right to vote. … I don’t have anything against Puerto Rico. I’m Black. I mean, hey, we have our own problems. I don’t see why they chose that. The NFL does stuff that baffles your mind.
“They’ll do anything for money. And you know, I thank God I had a chance to play in the National Football League, but as an entity, the NFL is one of the most corrupt organizations.”
Following the 2025 NFL Draft which saw Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders go from first round talent to the fifth round. Dickerson said the league was told to collude and make an example of Sanders in an attempt to humble the former Colorado Buffaloes legend.
Dickerson even said he hoped the Browns would cut Sanders in an effort to get him from the toxicity on the shores of Lake Erie.
The six-time Pro Bowler and five-time First-team All-Pro says he’s in San Francisco to voice his opinions, and he won’t let anyone change his mind about Bad Bunny, the Super Bowl or the NFL.
NASA’s mathematician Katherine Johnson is one of the nation’s hidden treasures as are so many in the Black community.

She made history as one of the first Black women to work as a NASA scientist. Johnson was brilliant as it pertained to numbers and formulas and in 1961, she put the calculations together that enabled astronauts to go into space.
For better than 30 years, she used her math capabilities to transform the possibilities of space travel.
As a tribute to her meticulous and downright breathtaking work, a space station supply ship named after her launched into the International Space Station on February 20th, celebrating the 59th anniversary of John Glenn’s historic orbit around the Earth.
Johnson’s role in this endeavor was crucial as she verified the numbers needed to make a launch possible. It’s safe to say her numbers were pretty accurate.
“It’s our tradition to name each Cygnus after an individual who’s played a pivotal role in human space flight, and Ms. Johnson was selected for her hand-written calculations that helped launch the first Americans into space, as well as her accomplishments in breaking the proverbial glass ceiling after glass ceiling as a Black woman” said Frank DeMauro, Vice President and General Manager at Northrop Grumman.
Northrop Grumman named the NG-15 Cygnus spacecraft, the S.S. Katherine Johnson, in celebration of Black History Month.

Johnson was born August 26, 2018, in White Sulphuric Springs, West Virginia. She displayed an incredible math skillset at a young age, which allowed her to take an ax Leto oath in her academic studies. She even enrolled in college early and took every math course available to her, while also receiving mentorship from multiple professors. NASA even says she was mentored by the third Black person to earn a Ph. D. in mathematics, Professor W.W. Schiefellin Claytor.
In 1937, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and French. She was just 18-years-old. Upon graduation, she followed in her mentor’s footsteps as a teacher. She landed a job as a teacher at a Black public school in Virginia. She then became the first Black woman to attend graduate school at West Virginia University in Morgantown.
The National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) hired Johnson as a research mathematician in 1953. That organization became NASA in 1958. Her work was instrumental in Alan Shepard’s mission Freedom 7, John Glenn’s orbital mission, and Apollo 11’s flight to the moon.
In 2015 President Obama awarded Johnson the country’s highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal Of Freedom. In 2016, the Hollywood film “Hidden Figures” her contributions as a NASA mathematician. Taraji P. Henson played the lead role of Katherine Johnson.

Johnson passed on February 24, 2020, at age 101. She left the world with several quotes that highlight the keys to success and significance. “We always have STEM with us.” Some things will drop out the public eye and will go away, but there will always be science, engine and technology. And above all, there will always be mathematics.”
In the recent episode of the “Hoopin’ N Hollerin'” podcast, former NBA star Jason “White Chocolate” Williams said that Bronny James’ NBA journey would have been more fulfilling and his development as a person would have been richer if he stayed in college longer.
Stephen A. Smith always maintained that Lebron was Bronny’s worst enemy when it came to exposing him to criticism from the media by using his influence in order to fast track a kid who hadn’t earned his way. Thus, creating animosity Bron Jr. that he didn’t need while navigating the pro circuit and trying to live up to impossible standards.

Williams understands where SAS is coming from and recently said that he believes Bronny James would have benefited from four years in college. Williams says an even better scenario would have been for Bronny to get far away from the shadow of his father and become his own man.
Williams mentioned Duke and North Carolina among the basketball programs that he believes could have really benefitted Bronny James’ development and planted great seeds for his true elevation as an NBA player.
“I wish selfishly that Bronny James would have gone to Duke or North Carolina just to get away from L.A. and get away from his pops and go over there and be the man. If he had stayed in college for four years, I think he’d have been a monster. I do think because it just looks like from the outside that Bronny doesn’t really care about basketball like he should. I’m not saying he doesn’t, but it just looks like that,” White Chocolate said.
Williams went on to say that he believes Bronny’s basketball mindset could have really benefited from another powerful voice other than his Dad’s. A legendary coach who has seen hundreds of NBA players pass through and understands the kind of knowledge and motivation they need. Away from the coddling or even the overreactions of a parent.
“It is crazy when basketball is just like something to do. Yeah. I might as well just play in the NBA. And he’s so good. Yeah. I mean, could be so good. He has a gift. I think he would have benefited from four years in college with somebody like Coach K (former Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski) or whoever’s coaching them boys. That would have been sick, “Williams shared.
Bronny James’ ascension to the NBA has been easier than any player we can remember. His father is a GOAT candidate and let us know years in advance that Bronny would be playing in the NBA. A heart problem couldn’t stop him. Only playing sparingly as a freshman at USC couldn’t stop him. All of the criticism and accusations of nepotism couldn’t knock his hustle as the Lakers drafted him with the 55th pick of the second round.
Now that reality has set in, Bronny is still trying to earn his respect in the league, playing on a team with his dad who is an iconic figure in the game, basically taking his career victory lap before retiring.
In his sophomore year, Bronny is still finding his place in the steady rotation of the Lakers. But he is positive and has hopes of asserting himself as an everyday starter some day.
“I need to get in the gym, get extra shots up, work on my body, work on my IQ, watch film, stuff like that with the coaches,” he told ESPN about what he is doing to elevate his game this season.
Bronny definitely needed more seasoning in college, but after the health scare and the fact that LeBron James always wanted to sit on an NBA bench with his son and become the first father-son duo to play in an NBA game together, we knew that Bronny’s process would be accelerated. Whether it was earned is a debate that continues to this day.
In his one year at USC, Bronny exhibited some flashes of pro potential but generally had an underwhelming campaign. He played 25 games for the Trojans and averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists.
Since joining the Lakers, he hasn’t seen much time in NBA games, but has had a couple of high-scoring games in the G League.
When reports emerged that Jeannie Buss made private remarks about LeBron James that “he should be grateful” for the Lakers’ organization, you can bet she was referring to the drafting of Bronny James and the way the organization put up a strong and united front for the media that he was drafted based on talent and potential not the relationship the franchise had with his legendary father.
Everyone has an opinion about Bronny James, but LeBron accomplished his mission. Every time he sees Bronny on the court during garbage time, and he gets a dunk or hits a three, his dad smiles because for once he worked the system. It didn’t work the player, and that rarely if ever, happens.
WFAN radio host Keith McPherson, a former college football player, took Barstool President Dave Portnoy to task for his recent attempt at simply running in a video that has since gone viral.
“Anonymous nerds online will make jokes about me mentioning I played college football. It’s not a flex. It’s a reminder that I’m an athlete. I can still run and do things with a ball in my hands. Separate me from guys talking sports that look like your president here trying to run!,” McPherson captioned above a video of Portnoy’s athletic display.
The “you never played the game” therefore your opinion doesn’t count is a debatable approach. It’s sports and everyone can have an opinion no matter how uniformed or void of truth. A pro player could in the same way use that excuse to dismiss the opinion of a person such as McPherson, who only reached college.
McPherson continued to lay into Portnoy on the feed. One fan responded on X to McPherson’s caption…
“One of the reasons I’ll always try to be in decent shape,” said one netizen. To which McPherson added:
“It’s part of credibility if you ask me. You’ve got guys speaking so strongly on things they haven’t done.”
When one fan suggested McPherson race against 71-year-old radio legend Mike Francesa, McPherson said, “There’s a few talking heads I would love to put on turf and see what they can do,” undoubtedly referencing other sports talking heads on New York radio who don’t look like they could jump over a batting tee.
Portnoy, who knows how to garner engagement with the best of them and set up stunts that help his brand explode, was competing in some kind of race as part of a promotion. He claimed to have some kind of injury and certainly ran like it as he had a 20 yard lead on his opponent to run about 10 yards. As Portnoy barely made it across the finish line, he celebrated saying “I did it again. I did it again.” “Another victory, they never stop coming.”
Then he poured a drink into a championship cup trophy and celebrated the Patriots being in the Super Bowl.
Portnoy had his supporters in the matter.
“He’s still way better at his job than you will ever be. What does his running ability have to do with anything,” one fan said
“What does being athletic have to do with talking sports,” another fan asked McPherson. “Portnoy has grown to be one of the biggest sports media outlets ever. Also he’s smart enough to know he’s old and slow, also it’s amazingly funny content. Some of the WORST talking heads are former athletes.”
Portnoy has plenty of opinions and his followers – those who have helped build his Barstool sports empire – have elevated him to some kind of sports God. However, in McPherson’s opinion, Portnoy is more a product of today’s social media, where guys who have a large following bloviate about players and things they never experienced.
Portnoy is always trying to put on a show, sell a brand and set up his next move. He wants guys like McPherson talking about him. Maybe this is another concocted scheme by Portnoy to bring McPherson, a recent free agent, into the Barstool family.
This is something to keep an eye on, especially if Portnoy responds and the two can get together to compete at something for a worthy cause.
Deontay Wilder had a great run as a heavyweight boxer, bringing the championship back to the United States and briefly energizing the spirit of boxing in a division that once ruled the sports landscape.
However, his two losses to Tyson Fury continue to haunt his legacy. The Bronze Bomber faced Fury and lost by TKO in February 2020. Then he got KO’d in October of 2021.
Wilder didn’t take those losses well and has never achieved acclaim in the boxing ring since. He’s been living off his past reputation and a claim that Fury cheated in order to beat him. He’s also allegedly preparing to present his evidence in a documentary.
Footage of Fury going to Wilder’s corner after their final encounter circulated. However, the viral clip from 2021 shows a dejected Wilder unwilling to engage in any good sportsmanship.
Fury approached Wilder’s corner attempting to squash their bad blood, but Wilder wasn’t having it.
“Listen, it’s respect,” said Fury. “You got beat fair, and square tonight, that’s it. I respect you because I’m a man. Don’t show bad sport; you lost fair and square.”
“No love. I don’t respect you,” Wilder said, waving Fury away from his stool. Ultimately, WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán ushered Fury away from the corner.
Later, Fury was seen talking to Wilder’s manager Shelly Finkel to refute Wilder’s many claims that Fury uses performance-enhancing drugs.
“Listen, I’ve never cheated in my life,” said Fury. “I played fair and square. He’s got a bad hatred towards me, I don’t know why but let me tell ya, he lost out like a man tonight. He put me down three times; I put him down four. Great heavyweight fight.”
Deontay Wilder is set to make his return to the boxing ring on April 4, 2026, facing Derek Chisora at The O2 Arena in London. In a press conference for his return, Wilder crashed out on British host Simon Jordan after he continued to ask Wilder questions about his excuses for his losses to Tyson Fury. Wilder even had to be restrained by security.
Wilder made it clear, saying:
“I don’t want to talk about him. We’re not gonna talk to him at all. So let’s move on. I came here to talk about Derek Chisora and that’s it.”
“It’s part of a schtick that goes with you,” Jordan reasoned. “I always wanted to have a conversation with you because you made observations about Fury… you’ve called him a cheat.”
“The biggest in boxing,” Wilder responded. “If somebody is practicing taking the stuff out of their gloves in training what they gonna do in the fight?” Wilder asked.
Jordan brought up a list of the excuses Wilder made in the past for why he lost to Tyson including, Wider making accusations that his water was spiked, blaming his trainer Mark Breland for the weight of his Game of Thrones gladiator suit. All of the reasons he has reportedly expressed for getting floored by Fury twice.
Simon Jordan called him a flake and said it was “disappointing” that Wilder would make those kinds of excuses.
“I know the truth. I have the facts,” said Wilder as he got increasingly more agitated and walked towards Jordan.
Wilder says when the documentary airs everyone will have the facts.
Wilder, who also has a history of reminding people what Black men such as himself have had to endure throughout history accused Jordan of not believing him because he was Black and Tyson was white.
“Why is it so hard to believe a Black man than a white man? Why is it so hard? Why is it…You got white privilege,” Wilder screamed. I ain’t never had that. He even had Derek Chisora supporting his claims in the background, saying “Yeah, Yeah.”
“This whole country, this whole world got something to do about *race,” Wilder said as they went back and forth.
RELATED: Deontay Wilder Is American So Why Are You Rooting For Tyson Fury?
Social media reacted to the spectacle, but we also know that Wilder is promoting a boxing match. The heavyweight division has been on life support for some time. Millions are flocking to exhibition bouts featuring YouTubers such as Jake Paul. Jordan said in an interview after the exchange that he wondered “is he (Wilder) on drugs or something” or if this was all a show orchestrated by Wilder.
Scripted fights, false prophets, exhibition matches presented as sanctioned bouts. It’s all fair game now. So, excuse me if I don’t take Widler’s rant that seriously.
For one, he’s taken some serious blows to the head during his career so he might not be in the right state of mind. His ego has certainly taken a beating with the losses to Fury, so he needs a huge comeback to set up a pay day he can retire on. Also, it’s his job to give anybody a reason to watch this fight or cop the documentary.
B. Hen from Jeff Teague’s infamous “Club 520″ podcast has his own take on the Reggie Miller, Caitlin Clark, Payton Pritchard discussion that has consumed social media ever since the former Indiana Pacers sharpshooter-turned-analyst likened the WNBA star to the Boston Celtics’ 2024-25 NBA “Sixth Man of the Year” award winner.
RELATED: Caitlin Clark Fans Blast Reggie Miller For Comparing Her To Boston Celtics Guard Payton Pritchard
Despite Pritchard having a career season and starting a career-high number of games, people, including Clark apparently from her expression, took it as an insult. Ignoring the fact that he’s still peaking.
B. Hen finds that comical and lets it be known in a recent episode.
“Payton Pritchard is way better than f***king Caitlin Clark. I dont know if its womens month or whavetver the f**k, but let’s keep it real bro,” the co-host said,
“Payton Pritchard I hope you don’t feel slighted bro because they tried to play with your name too but on here, nah, we know the real cuz.”
Jeff Teague then reminded B.Hen that on the broadcast, Caitlin herself admitted that she would “get killed” out there trying to compete against NBA players.
“This isn’t towards her (Caitlin Clark),” he clarified. “I’m just saying to the people trying to come to Payton Pritchard. He can hoop for real. He’d average 50 in the MF ‘W. He’d be the greatest woman’s basketball player. Greatest transformer to ever play in the ‘W’.”
Never afraid to push the envelope, the topic veered left after that, but we get the point. While many NBA players have supported WNBA players by showing up at games, collaborating on social media and even wearing their various signature shoes, others have continuously taken shots at the league. Often with the intention of establishing a clear separation between the two leagues and that usually entails criticism of some kind.
We all know that Reggie Miller was talking about style of play and his comparison wasn’t what the Cailtin Clark fans wanted to hear. B. Hen wanted to make sure that the confusion didn’t enter into fantasy realms by suggesting Clark was a better player than Pritchard. She is, however, held in higher esteem amongst her WNBA peers than Pritchard is throughout the NBA community.
Caitlin Clark’s athletic prowess really can’t be questioned. In addition to her exploits on the basketball court and on the golf course, she can throw a nice spiral.
During a recent episode of Candace Parker and Aliyah Boston’s “Post Moves” Podcast the co-hosts marveled over a video of Clark dropping aerial dimes at a workout facility.
Then Parker suggested that this was right on cue, because the Olympics is introducing women’s flag football at the 2028 Los Angeles Games.
“Throwing darts…Look at her arm. Look at her go,” Parker and Boston marveled.
“It feels on theme because the Olympics is gonna have flag football in 2028,” Parker said.
Which then, pushed the conversation in another direction.
“I would love to build our NFL lineup using WNBA players,” Parker suggested.
The two hosts tossed legendary WNBA names around for each NFL offensive position, but if you were listening, the real story is Caitlin Clark and Olympic flag football.
Was Parker suggesting that Clark would also be competing as quarterback for the women’s flag football team? Or was she saying that Clark’s huge brand and her ability to play the game of flag football will help drive its popularity and bring fans to the event in 2028?
We know Clark is going to be part of a new era Team USA Women’s Basketball squad featuring WNBA superstars such as Angel Reese and others, who have led the recent women’s hoops explosion. They will team with other established superstars of the game like A’ja Wilson and Sabrina Ionescu to bring home another gold medal. Team USA is hunting its ninth straight gold medal dating back to 1996 in Atlanta. The squad is led by Duke head coach Kara Lawson, who won Olympic gold as a USA Basketball Women’s National Team player at Beijing 2008.

Either way, Clark definitely has the skills to compete as Team USA’s flag football star QB, but that might be too much for even her. However, if the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year and Nike family member decided to play flag football and basketball at the Olympics it would be the biggest story going. CP made a very interesting comment that fans will be keeping an eye on as things develop.
Longtime sports journalist Jemele Hill has never been afraid to express her opinion on any subject. Considered controversial at times, Hill has been known to push the envelope and say things that most would only think. That’s long been her MO, so it’s understandable why people believed that she had a strong opinion on the firing of Minnesota Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah.
Last week the Vikings decided that they needed to make a change in their front office, and that meant relieving the aforementioned Adofo-Mensah from his duties. This despite signing him to an extension in May of last year.
Adofo-Mensah’s dismissal came as a surprise, and many think it was his allowing Darnold, who led the team to a 14-3 record during his lone season in the “Twin Cities,” to leave via free agency.
All the former No.3 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft did was head to the Pacific Northwest and lead the Seahawks to a (14-3) record and the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, the Vikings are stuck with 2024 first-round pick J.J. McCarthy whose first two seasons in the league have been marred by injuries and subpar QB play.
Adofo-Mensah’s firing raised some eyebrows across the league, and several blogs went as far as to create fake quotes and attribute them to Hill, who is known to call out systemic issues and race-related dilemmas in sports.
“How many more chances would he get if he was white. This wasn’t just a football decision. It never is,” the graphic and caption supposedly attributed to Hill read.
From there, it was off to the races. Hill’s supposed comments drew the ire of many, who took to social media to express their opinions on the matter. Problem is, she never said it, calling the comment “completely fake.”
“I’ve never discussed this man publicly,” Hill told the Shadow League on Wednesday morning (Feb. 4). “I’m often the subject of fake quotes that circulate online that become quite a nuisance to deal with. I’ve never made single comment about the Minnesota GM being fired.”
The reaction was what you’d expect as it pertains to Hill, who is no stranger to controversial takes and opinions.
“The female version of Ryan Clark,” a fan said.
“Her and Ryan Clark need to start a podcast….,” another fan said.
“Everything’s not black or white. Sometimes a person doesn’t meet the criteria for their employer,” another fan mentioned.
“Would you keep an employee around if they werent good at their job?,” another fan quipped.
“That’s not all, if Sam Darnold wins the Super Bowl, they’ll fire him again, lol,” a fan said jokingly.
Hill went on to describe how these fake stories make it to the mainstream public.
“(On Facebook) they often put up a picture of a Black person who tends to draw engagement, and they completely make up quotes from these fake blogs that are nothing more than bot farms,” Hill tells The Shadow League.
Hill might not have called out what could be perceived as another short hook for a minority leader in the NFL this time. But she has taken the NFL to task on numerous occasions and most recently concerning Kevin Stefanski’s Atlanta hiring.
When the Atlanta Falcons fired Raheem Morris after just two seasons and hired the former Cleveland Browns head coach (AKA Shedeur Sanders’ Nemesis), Hill posted this to her X account.
“Harry Douglas was absolutely right. None of the Falcons fans I know like the Stefanski hire. He had a losing record in Cleveland and they didn’t like how he handled the Shedeur Sanders situation. They LOVE Deion in the ATL.
It’s a Black city, with one of the Blackest fan bases in the NFL, and they have a Black QB on their roster — so a lot of ATL fans are side-eyeing this hire. Stefanski isn’t going to get a honeymoon there.”
She also isn’t alone in her criticism of how the league handles Black coaches and executives. “The Odd Couple” radio host Rob Parker mentioned it a few weeks ago, when it was becoming clear that Black head coaching candidates would not be taken seriously this hiring cycle.
Hill has been the target of right wingers and MAGA lovers ever since she called Trump “a white supremist” some years ago and continues to hold the most powerful institutions in sports and across the country accountable.
“Juice” Hill tells The Shadow League that there is a contingent of people who “specifically target black folks…me, Ryan Clark, Angel Reese. I truly want to sue these people,” she said.
Hill and former ESPN colleague Cari Champion are joining forces again with a new women’s sports talk show called “Flagrant and Funny.”
The duo co-hosted a show called a Vice TV show titled “Cari and Jemele Won’t Stick to Sports” which ran from 2020-21.
Despite an NFL-record 10 head coaching vacancies entering this offseason hiring cycle, none were filled by a Black head coach. The issue of minority hiring in the NFL has once again made national headline news.
RELATED: White Owners Show NFL Where To Shove Rooney Rule
FS1 radio host Rob Parker predicted early on in the process that no Black coach would be hired out of all of the openings. He also scolded other media members for not taking NFL owners to task for what appears to be more examples of systemic racism.
“It looks like NO Black coaches will be hired with 10 NFL HC openings. A disgrace.
In the NFL, peeps – including all the say-alot-but-really-say-nothing Black NFL analysts on TV – simply ignore this issue, turn a blind eye.”
That was early in the cycle. Parker’s premonition has now come to pass. Los Angeles Rams Offensive Coordinator Mike Loffler was the final hire and is now the hew head coach of the Arizona Cardinals. That means we will begin the 2025-26 NFL season with DeMeco Ryans (Texans), Todd Bowles (Buccaneers) and Aaron Glenn (Jets) as the only Black head coaches in a 32-team league. Robert Saleh, who is Lebanese American, was the only minority coach deemed worthy of an opportunity.
That’s crazy for a league where Black players reportedly make up roughly 70 percent of the rosters.
Since the league’s inception it’s been an uphill battle for Black coaches. The peak for the sport as it pertains to Black head coaches was in 2017 with seven.
Baltimore Ravens All-Pro safety Kyle Hamilton spoke about the issue in February 2025, and he kept short and sweet.
“Networking and nepotism. For Black people it’s an uphill battle.”
Washington Commanders star Terry McLaurin noticed the pattern as he continued to advance to the next level.
“Now that you mention it,” McLaurin said, “I’ve never had a Black head coach in high school, college or the NFL. Coordinators and position coaches only.”
“You can’t just overlook that discrepancy,” McLaurin said. “Obviously, you want the best candidate for the job, whether it’s someone who is Black, white, Asian or whoever. However, when you have a big representation of African-American players that are in your league, you would like to see that represented in coaching, as well.”
So the players acknowledge it. The media sometimes acknowledges it. But the owners just refuse to. The tired narratives about hiring the best capable candidate and the disrespect shown towards the Rooney Rule and the reason why it exists in the first place continues. We have been writing these articles for over two decades and what’s really changed?
ESPN’s Clinton Yates joined ABC News to discuss the old and alarming trend in hiring, and he was asked why the rules that were set in place to avoid whitewashing of the head coaching position more than 20 years ago, haven’t worked. If you look at the NFL head coaching numbers, there’s the same number of coaches today that there were in 2003.
Yates says the Rooney Rule can easily be circumvented because at the end of the day owners have a preconceived notion of what they are looking for when it comes to leadership.
“The (Rooney) Rule is not going to help you with what is effectively human nature,” Yates said. “If you look at how the different things develop; where guys come from as coaches, how they’re looked at by their owners and most specifically how many opportunities they are given to fail before they have a chance. That’s where things fall off the most.”
RELATED: N.F.L Stands For “Not For Long” When It Comes To Black & Minority GMs, HCs and QBs
Yates mentioned an old theme when it comes to the NFL and minority hiring. Those Black coaches who are hired, seem to get the quick hook.
Over 25 seasons from 2000 through 2024, an AP count shows, 31 of 173 new NFL coaches — 18% — are Black. In that same span, eight of the 19 head coaches — 42% — fired after their first full season are Black.
Yates continued:
“You look at the former coach of the New England Patriots, who are now in the Super Bowl, Jerod Mayo. He got fired after one season. Exactly…guys like that often don’t get another chance…Meanwhile you have other guys who get chances over and over and over again.”
Mike Tomlin is truly the exception and it’s another example of how much better he had to be than those other guys to keep his job.
Yates says whether intentional or unintentional the systemic issue is evident and those who question the qualifications of Black candidates are feeding into comical and outdated narratives. The narrative is fed by the NFL owners’ refusal — or inability — to think outside of the box.
“You’re really telling me that there are only three human beings walking the earth that are capable of benign a head coach in the NFL, who are Black folks. That just doesn’t make sense,” Yates said.
“A lot of these owners, frankly, old, rich, billionaire white men, don’t have the world view that a lot of younger people do to make sure they can see somebody as having an opportunity that’s worth taking a shot on.”
Caitlin Clark had another viral moment in her debut as a special correspondent for NBA games on NBC, alongside Hall of Famers such as Carmelo Anthony and Reggie Miller.
In one funny moment, Miller was attempting to give Clark credit, and he compared her to Boston Celtics guard Payton Pritchard, who is a damn good player, but not considered among the elite as Clark is in the WNBA.
Clark herself was probably expecting comparisons to Larry Bird or Steph Curry. The way her face responded to his comment was viral gold. Her wide-eyed expression of disbelief was captured across the world.
Fans on social media had all kinds of opinions. Some say Miller disrespected the WNBA’s cash cow and others felt Clark should have received it as a compliment to be compared to a solid NBA player with unlimited range and a contributor to a World championship team.
“That’s a horrible comparison,” one fan said. She is like an upgraded Steve Nash easily.”
“I don’t see the problem. Did yall want him to be delusional and say Steph Curry,” asked on fan on Facebook
“Being compared to any NBA player is a compliment, she’s a modern day Steve Kerr, how about that,” said another.
“Where would Pritchard rank among NBA players as opposed to where Clark would rank among WNBA players? That should be the question and it’s not even close,” said a third fan trying to bring perspective to the comparison.
“Maybe she is now,” one CC fan said. But I can tell you right now if they quit beating up on Caitlyn she will be.”
Lmao Payton Pritchard…that’s gotta sting,” one fan on Facebook said.
“Lmao She thought he was going to say Curry,” another laughed.
“She broke records my guy. Why is a 68-year-old Black dude so oppressed by a little white girl? Grow some balls and act like a man,” another fan ranted.
Maybe a Season Ago, This Would Have Been An Insult: Pritchard Is Valuable Starter
Since Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum went down with a debilitating injury that forced him to miss this entire season, Pritchard has stared 48 games after starting just 17 in his first five seasons in Boston. Pritchard is a starter and posting career-highs in points per game (16.8), rebounds (4.3) and assists (5.3). He shoots 45.6% from the field and is an 86 percent free throw shooter, who sprays the three-ball at a 39.1 percent clip for his career.
Anytime the subject of Caitlin Clark comes up, it creates a firestorm of opinion which ultimately ends up in some kind of racial engagement. Her fans get offended by any perceived slight, and then everybody else, including the WNBA catches strays.
In this case, Reggie Miller found out what The Caitlin Clark Effect is like.
The fierce rivalry between the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers and Morehouse College Maroon Tigers dates back to 1902. The two legendary HBCUs longstanding battles have produced plenty of iconic moments as well as a ton of disdain and vitriol towards one another.
The rivalry took another turn in their latest meeting on the hardwood. At the conclusion of Saturday’s Morehouse (77-69) win over Tuskegee, Golden Tigers head coach Benjy Taylor was handcuffed and escorted out of the gym by police. As the teams entered the handshake line at the conclusion of the game, Taylor asked security to remove multiple Morehouse football players who had no business in the line. Per reports they were also “yelling obscenities” while creating a hostile environment and “security breach.”
Following a brief discussion with the police, Taylor was then handcuffed and removed from the gym, something that was baffling to him. In the aftermath of Saturday’s events, Taylor told reporters this.
“I am at a loss for words, and I am upset about how I was violated and treated today. For my players, my family and people of Tuskegee to witness that is heartbreaking for me.
“I was simply trying to get the football team out of the handshake line as they were following right behind me and the team yelling obscenities! It was a very dangerous situation.”
Of course, the fans were as shocked as the coach about his treatment.
“See Black man, will arrest,” said one fan on X.
“They mistook the coach for someone on their most wanted list,” another added.
“How you the head coach and the cops cufin you,” another asked.
“Only at HBCU,” added another.
In support of his head basketball coach, Tuskegee Reginald Ruffin says he isn’t buying the officer’s account that Taylor became very aggressive during the exchange between the two. Ruffin also mentioned that he didn’t agree with the officer’s lack of urgency to take proper “security measures” in the matter that are “mandated by the conference,” therefore endangering everyone in the gym if a brawl or melee were to breakout.
Taylor Hires Legal Representation
Citing embarrassment and downright disgust, Taylor mentioned that he’s hired the services of civil right attorney Harry Daniels in the matter. Daniels expounded on the situation in a statement:
“Such behavior from the Morehouse football players, particularly their intermingling with the basketball players on the court and during the postgame handshake is prohibited by conference-mandated security protocols,” Daniels said in his statement. “When Coach Taylor asked two police officers to enforce those protocols attempting to diffuse an increasingly dangerous situation, however, one of the officers chose to place him in handcuffs and escort him from the court.”
“It would be bad for a police officer to treat anyone like this,” Daniels said in his statement. “But to do it to a man like Coach Taylor, a highly respected professional and role model, to put him in handcuffs, humiliate him and treat him like a criminal in front of his team, his family and a gym full of fans is absolutely disgusting and they need to be held accountable.”
Daniels, a prominent national civil rights attorney based in Atlanta, is known for representing victims of police misconduct, wrongful death, and excessive force. He frequently collaborates with attorneys like Ben Crump.
Now in his sixth season at the helm, Taylor has done quite well as the program’s head sideline stalker. His overall record is 102-72 and 65-35 in the SIAC. Now, he’s appears set to cash in on the negligence of a couple of officers at an archrival school.
The first domino fell on Monday as the SIAC fined Morehouse an undisclosed amount for failing to adhere to mandated conference safety standards.
WNBA legend Candace Parker recently went viral during a Los Angeles Clippers-Los Angeles Lakers game she covered for a facial expression she made in the presence of LeBron James.
The former WNBA star-turned-hoops analyst called the game alongside retired NBA legend Dwyane Wade, who is close friends with James, as the two won several championships together with the “Heatles.” During the game, LeBron approached Wade at the announcing booth to tell him something. Parker, who had nothing to do with the encounter and wasn’t even acknowledged by James, looked on intensely, which drew the attention of social media. Speculation ran wild.
After all of the assumptions, theories and analysis, Parker has finally addressed the drama. She says her family even enjoyed the moment and trolled her over it.
During her “Post Moves” podcast with Indiana Fever star Aliyah Boston, Parker told her co-host, “It’s crazy the amount of memes. I know our producers are being really nice, but my family is not nice. So they sent me all these memes.”
Parker got a kick out of all of the memes, listing her favorites.
“She’s questioning her sexuality. “She’s about to go back to the other team. She’s switching teams once again, Parker recalls.
“Everybody was coming at me like I was trying to risk it all,” Parker told Boston.
The “all” she’s referring to is her marriage with wife, Russian basketball player Anna Petrakova, who Parker tied the knot with in 2019. The couple have two boys together.
“Aint nobody trying to risk it all,” Parker insisted. “I’m literally just sitting there trying to do my job.
According to Parker the real reason her face was positioned in that manner is because she often gets criticism for the faces she makes, so she tried to not look at the camera and keep cool, which clearly didn’t work.
Parker then clarified the reason behind her stare:
“People always say that I have a resting b**** face. And so, in my mind, I’m like, ‘I know the camera is here, so I’m gonna try not to look because I’m going to try not to look like … I want to look like I want to be here.’ And so, I was just kind of like looking at what [James] was saying, but not trying to have a resting b**** face. So, ain’t nobody trying to risk it all. It’s cool.”
Parker was married to former Atlanta Hawks player Shelden Williams from 2008 to 2016. Following their divorce, she “switched teams” and built a life with Petrakova. Parker embraced the moment and wasn’t offended by the fans’ memes and trolling. That comes with the game when you’re one of the faces of women’s hoops and basketball in general in the United States.
Like it or not, Shedeur Sanders is in the Pro Bowl and he’s receiving the kind of love he didn’t get as he fought through a rookie season filled with obstacles, criticisms and fabrications about the content of his character. During recent Pro Bowl practice Shedeur was spotted soaking in some jewels from Hall of Fame, dual-threat legend Steve Young.
A video of the two generations of NFL excellence interacting with each other went viral, with people sharing it over and over.
“Shedeur Sanders and Steve Young have some fun at the Pro Bowl roughly three decades after the 49ers legend won a Super Bowl with Shedeur’s dad Deion Sanders.”
Sanders, the 23-year-old lightening-rod rookie quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, earned his spot in the Pro Bowl as a replacement for New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, who is unavailable due to his team’s Super Bowl berth. With the Pro Bowl Games set for February 3 in San Francisco as part of Super Bowl week festivities, the spotlight on Sanders, on and off the field continues to drive the NFL social media mill as the matchup itself between the Seahawks and Patriots will be uncompelling to half of the country.
The event, which includes various skills competitions and a flag football game coached by Young and fellow 49ers Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, exists largely as an exhibition these days. Still, the league is clearly leaning into ways to make the game more appealing to their young fan base and the casual fan.
There are those who say Shedeur doesn’t deserve to be in the Pro Bowl. Others say his addition is pure marketing. At least that perspective accounts for his impact as a brand and how much his mere existence is worth to the franchise.
As far as Shedeur’s ability goes. It’s still odd how people have ignored his pedigree and instead used it as an indictment against his character. His father Deion Sanders is a GOAT and despite the backlash, was very excited that his son already accomplished something he didn’t do in his legendary career.
Coach Prime wants people to respect the fact that coaches and players also vote for Pro Bowlers, so that reflects on the respect Shedeur has earned on the field this season.
“My son did something I didn’t do. He made the Pro Bowl in his first year. It’s not just a fan thing,” Deion said.
Deion Sanders is also the same father who allowed Tom Brady to mentor Shedeur during his college days at Jackson State and Colorado, Shedeur had an NIL deal with Brady Brand. It’s well-documented how Brady was very supportive of Shedeur with hands-on teaching and even had some advice for the flamboyant rookie, who is never afraid to flash his cash.
The seven-time SB winner has also sung Shedeur’s praises as a football player on several occasions.
How much you want to bet that Young couldn’t wait to pick Sheduer’s brain and see what is what. He’s heard the same narratives and watched and covered the same games everyone else has. So he surely has an opinion about the young QB. He also has a solid relationship with his dad Deion and a high personal opinion of his former Super Bowl teammate, so the jovial interaction between the two was definitely great to see.
Per usual, Shedeur’s presence in this Pro Bowl two-hand-touch exhibition is actually the only attraction. So, let’s thank him ahead of time. The kids clearly love him and most of his haters are adult males and masked perpetrators of online fiction.
“The hate only exist online,” captioned one fan above a video of Shedeur getting love from a group of younger fans. More proof that the younger generation is behind him 100 percent. He relates to the future of the league. Not the past.
Some fans are still invested in downplaying Shedeur’s potential as an NFL QB, but less and less are denying the power of his brand and the way he attracts the cameras and incites emotion throughout the sports community and beyond.
“This is a blessing doesn’t matter how @ShedeurSanders gets to the Pro Bowl, it’s not on him but the committee who votes so no heat towards him. But let’s be honest more will be watching and Pro Bowl will get higher ratings and that’s good for the players and the NFL,” one fan said.
“Steve Young is legendary. Gave my Niners our last trophy with coach Prime! Amazing to see him with Shedeur and no doubt “grown” will soak up every learning opportunity,” said another.
“Lifetime Browns fan, I need him to get us out of Qb HELL..LEGENDARY,” pleaded a third.
After a 5-win season and a soap opera of media attention, the Cleveland Browns will probably be the most discussed team at the Pro Bowl, because everyone is once again invested in what Shedeur Sanders does on the field. Even an exhibition. He’s sure to give them a great show launching the ball downfield.
Philadelphia Sixers star Paul George has been playing well since returning from injury. With the strong play of rising stars Tyrese Maxey and rookie V.J. Edgecombe, as well as the rebirth of former MVP Joel Embiid, the Sixers (27-21) look like true contenders in the Eastern Conference again.
Unfortunately, the Sixers will have to compete for the next 25 games without George who was suspended for violating the league’s anti-drug policy. The nine-time All-Star and six-time All-NBA selection says he accidentally took something to help combat mental health issues and that’s what caused the failed drug test. NBA legend Shaquille O’ Neal isn’t buying George’s excuse and called him out on it.
Speaking on “Inside The NBA” on ESPN, O’Neal the four-time NBA champion, didn’t hold back when talking about George’s major hiccup.
“You know they gave us a booklet on what to do, what not to do. They give us a booklet. They also give you, inside the booklet, how long it takes to get rid of something. So, I don’t want to elaborate n what he was doing, but stuff like this should not happen because they give you a booklet. ‘Don’t take this, this and this.’ The letter of the law, do not take any of these things. When you’ve been in the league this long, you know what it is. They test you three, four times a year.”
“This is definitely gonna hurt.”
O’Neal is referencing George’s reputation and his importance to the rising Sixers.
Smith, a two-time NBA champion with the Houston Rockets, agreed with O’Neal. But he also took a different approach to the matter. Smith said if George really took something to deal with his mental health-related issues, then the league’s suspension may have been too harsh a punishment.
George’s situation reintroduced the discussion surrounding mental health in sports with fans giving opinions on the matter.
“Mental health matters, but the timing does seem off,” one fan said.
“Sounds to me like his mental health is affected by not being the player he used to be and took PEDs to bring the old PG back,” another fan said.
“Just like Shag said, you have a list of, that is your guide for knowing what you can, or can’t take, PG, tried to pull a fast one,” another fan quipped.
“For real, mental health is no joke. but 25 games? bruh, that’s wild,” another fan mentioned.
“Paul George thought he could do something, got caught then blamed a mental health drug,” another fan spewed.
In his most recent performance, George, who signed a $212M contract with the Sixers in January of 2025, had a rewind the clock game going for 32 points including nine threes, which is the second-best mark of his career. George’s playmaking ability will be missed as he’s served as a key connector and reliable multi-level scorer.
The words controversial and polarizing are two of the best ways to describe former ESPN host Sage Steele. Over the years Steele has been known to always push the envelope with her takes. So to see Steele exhibit such a disrespectful disposition towards former FLOTUS Michelle Obama isn’t all that surprising.
Steele came at the former First Lady hard for recent comments she made pertaining to Black women’s hair. Obama recently talked about how being Black means you ‘can’t swim or go to the gym because of white people standards.’
“Braids are for y’all so we can work harder,” she joked.
It didn’t take long for Steele to rattle the cage and make some pretty disrespectful remarks in response to what the former FLOTUS was getting at.
Steele shared Obama’s interview with actress Tracey Ellis-Ross and captioned her response by saying this…
“Why is she so ANGRY????”
And of course, white people are to blame for her hair issues. Good lord…it’s exhausting. And sad that this is how she is choosing to use her platform as a former First Lady.”
She added:
“Shut up! I’ve lost all respect for this woman because of how she’s choosing to behave with that title of former first lady. It’s funny and it’s pathetic.”
People online are saying no woman should ever disrespect Michelle Obama, the first Black First Lady, noting that her legacy, grace, and impact on American history deserve respect—regardless of politics.
“It’s always our own the biggest haters,” a fan said.
“Michelle, like all has free speech to speak her mind regardless …free world free freedom,” another fan said.
TV host Roland Martin retweeted Steele’s comments with this…
“I can guarantee you that
Michelle Obama doesn’t give one damn what these MAGAots @SageSteele, @JillianMichaels or @drdrew thinks.”
RELATED: Sage Steele Sues ESPN, Claims Network Violated Her Freedom Of Speech
While some agreed that Steele’s comments were wrong, many others didn’t have a problem with her exercising her freedom of speech.
“Respect is earned! It is NOT an entitlement,” a fan said.
“I think Sage was exercising her rights to free speech,” another fan said.
“God Bless Sage she speaking the facts and truth,” another fan mentioned.
“Sage has a right to her opinion and deserves as much respect,” another fan quipped.
“She’s correct. I never witnessed her acting like a first lady. She complained nonstop,” another fan spewed.
Steele got what she wanted and that’s a ton of folks siding with her and taking the opportunity to take shots at the former First Lady. This is what oddly makes Steele tick and she’s used it to become one of the best race baiters there is.
When you think Draymond Green the words tough, fierce, fiery and competitive come to mind. The unquestioned emotional leader of the Golden State Warriors has never shied away from his responsibilities as the heart and soul and enforcer of the Dubs. In fact he’s long been so vested in his duties that’s it’s led to 209 career technical fouls, a boatload of ejections and a hefty dollar amount of fines.
That hasn’t stopped the four-time NBA champion from still pushing the envelope and playing with an edge, and he’ll be the first to tell you that’s it’s his job to set the tone nightly. That’s what Green attempted to do in the Dubs’ 131-124 home loss to the Eastern Conference-leading Detroit Pistons on Friday night, and on a night that saw the former Michigan State legend put in 15 points, six rebounds and seven assists including a season-best four triples he also received that aforementioned 209th technical foul.
Green Has Words With Ref
While the technical that Green received was definitely warranted, what ensued between the former DPOY and referee T.J. Orr wasn’t. In the aftermath of the technical foul being levied Green says Orr put his hand in his face, and that’s a no-no in America for a Black man.
Speaking in his postgame presser, Green elaborated on the ordeal…
“I will tell you, though. I find it very ironic that I got a technical foul for telling a Caucasian referee not to put his hand in my face. As a Black man in America, don’t put your hand in my face,” Green said.
“I said, ‘Hey, don’t put your hand in my face.’ And I got a tech. So I thought that was the most interesting thing of the night, next to my bobblehead.”
“He said, ‘Draymond, this is your chance to stop talking to me. (I responded) ’Bro, don’t put your hand in my face.’ Oh, tech. Oh! OK. Everybody wants to talk about holding a line of respect. That line needs to be held both ways. So if the line won’t be held both ways, then the line won’t be held from my way either, because we’re all men and we all can make decisions and choices. So let that be the last time that that happens,” he said.
Green Moves Into Uncharted Territory
While Green wasn’t ejected in Friday’s loss he did move into seventh place all-time on the technical fouls list ahead of the late Anthony Mason (New York Knicks). Green is only two behind NBA legend Dwight Howard for sixth all-time. He needs 60 more to reach the top five where he’d pass Dennis Rodman.
Green ranks second all-time in ejections with 24, just five behind Rasheed Wallace, who was tossed 29 times during his NBA career.
Green Could Be Dealt
As the NBA trade deadline approaches Green and every other Warriors player not named Stephen Curry know they could be traded. As the team prepares an offer for disgruntled Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, Green talked about the possibility of leaving the Bay Area ,where he’s played his entire 14-year career.
“I’ve been here for 14 years. I have no reason to sit and worry about leaving. But if I’m traded, that’s part of the business. I ain’t losing no sleep though. I slept great last night,” Green said.
“I’m not going to go up there and be like, ‘Yo, so tell me what y’all doing.’ I’ll be the same as I always am. My phone is always on. I’m always willing to collaborate in any way I can.”
NBA legend Allen Iverson is an icon. When the former No. 1 overall pick and 2001 NBA MVP does appearances the masses tend to show up. Known for his toughness, heart and passion for the game, fans have always resonated heavily with the former Georgetown Hoyas standout.
Iverson recently did meet-and-greet in Melbourne Australia, and the guy also known as “The Answer” left a sour taste in the mouths of the children and their families. One kid, Eli Stevenson, who’s battling cancer even took things farther telling Australia’s 10 News saying:
“He’s a jerk.”
Clearly upset and very disappointed Stevenson didn’t stop there he continued.
“We were all told that we could get the chance to get stuff signed. So I brought one of my jerseys, a basketball, my sister brought her basketball,” said Stevenson. “Basically everyone brought heaps of stuff to get signed and none of it got signed. … There was heaps of other kids from Challenge, too. … His management said we could take a photo and then we had to get out. He didn’t say anything. They said he wasn’t in the mood for it that day. Pretty disappointed.”
Stevenson’s mom mentioned that all participants were told they’d get somewhere between 20-40 minutes with Iverson. They were also promised a session where he’d sign memorabilia and even talk to the patients. That never happened, and Iverson only took pictures with the kids, forcing Challenge CEO David Rogers to say this.
“Iverson ultimately let down the children and families who came to meet him.”
Speaking in an interview about the situation, the 11-time All-Star and six-time All-NBA selection attempted to justify his actions.
“It’s tough, man. I’ve been here 10 days and the adjustment has been tough on me,” he said. “You know, the time changes. We’ve been here, we’ve been on the plane like four times. So, you know, it’s a different time from, you know, at home.”
It didn’t take long for native Australian and former NBA No. 1 pick Andrew Bogut to respond to let Iverson know what he did was unacceptable.
Bogut took to his X account to give his opinion:
“Current/former NBA player did a tour of Australia and treated people poorly and didn’t fulfill appointments and obligations. In other news the sky is blue. Absolute sh-t human. No excuses for this. If anyone knows this family pls reach out.”
As of Friday, Iverson’s team hadn’t reached out to Bogut, and it’s highly unlikely they will.
