‘How In The Hell Is Shedeur Not The Starting QB at This Moment???’: ESPN Cleveland’s Tony Rizzo Calls Browns Out On Circus Handling Of Shedeur Sanders

ESPN Cleveland’s Tony Rizzo delivered one of the honest rants of the year concerning Shedeur Sanders. Rizzo has been observing the bizarre communication coming from the organization and local reporters concerning the Brown’s starting position entering the 2026 season.

Rizzo says he’s SHOCKED that Shedeur Sanders has not been named the team’s starting QB after surviving his rookie fiasco and still leading the team to wins in his last two starts.

“How In the hell is Shedeur not the starting quarterback at this moment,” Rizzo ranted on ESPN Cleveland. “He finished the season on the field winning his last two games. You know any organization that would take a rookie quarterback who got no reps whatsoever in training camp and in his first 10 weeks of a season. They throw him in, feed him to the lions, somehow, he survives and wins three games, including two the last two against their divisional opponents. He’s got to earn the starting job.”

“I just know based on what happened last year. There’s a guy that got concussed and will never play again. A guy who hasn’t played in four years coming off double Achilles and a kid who won his last two games, and we are sitting here talking about who should be the goddamn starter. How in the hell is Shedeur not the starting QB at this moment??? Get the fk out of here!”

Shedeur Sanders Proved To Have QB1 Potential During Tank Season

Shedeur did everything in his power despite character assassinations, roadblocks and internal sabotage to conduct himself with dignity, handle seven games of being a rookie signal-caller on a team that’s tanking for draft position, while winning three of the team’s five games and showing great potential for the future.

He’s wildly popular, and those  who dislike him for whatever reason, spend a great deal of time saying his name and getting the Cleveland Browns a type of national engagement that they’ve never experienced. Like ever.

Shedeur survived a highly-stressful and unusual rookie campaign where he was thrown into the fire without any preparation, but came out on the other end as most people’s expected QB1 for 2026.

Then, just as fast as he met first-year head coach Todd Monken, reports started surfacing from local media about the Browns being uncommitted to Sanders and STILL considering selecting a potential starting quarterback in April’s NFL draft. Or bringing back Deshaun Watson to go for another circus run.

Handling Of Shedeur Sanders & QB Room Is Finally Getting Exposed

It’s becoming increasingly clear that some people are intent on never allowing Shedeur to show that he can lead a franchise. The potential he showed probably scared a lot of those folks who were in on his blackballing. Still trying to make it look legit.

Well, Cleveland’s track record of making poor decisions and fielding subpar rosters and even worse quarterbacks has to be called on the carpet. Maybe they like this quarterback fiasco and the attention it’s bringing to an otherwise invisible franchise. Either way, the FOOTBALL guys (not the gossip guys) don’t like the way the situation is being handled. Especially when Shedeur earned a shot to be named the starter heading into training camp.

And from all reports he’s the only person that has been at the facility daily working out and building relationships.

What did the team do to reward him for that and all of those No. 12 jerseys people (including myself) bought?

They switched his number to 2. You can’t make this up.
