PRITTY Left Hook: Former 3-Division Boxing Champion Iran “The Blade” Barkley

“The Blade” discusses his Bronx roots, fighting Roberto Duran, Mitch Green vs. Mike Tyson and more.

Iran “The Blade” Barkley was a fixture of the boxing scene from the early eighties through the late nineties.

In the 70s, when the Bronx was burning, Barkley turned to gangs for love and support. It was a time when hip hop was building a foundation in the Boogie Down and a time when Barkley found his solace in the boxing gym.

The boxing legend is a three-weight class world champion, having held the WBC middleweight title, IBF super middleweight title and the WBA light heavyweight title during his career.

His infamous fight with Roberto Duran is now part of a new documentary, I AM DURAN, as it was a pivotal point in the lives of both men.

Enjoy this frank and honest sit down with the legend himself, Iran “The Blade” Barkley.
