Kanye West Tried To Clarify “Slavery Is A Choice” Comments And Fails

In early May, Kanye West lost his damn mind and became a MAGA stan

The culmination of this weird pro-Trump, “PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO ME” stretch, was his interview on TMZ where he said his idiotic statements that “slavery was a choice.”

Kanye West’s Rant In TMZ Office (Extended Cut) | TMZ

This is an extended cut of Kanye’s Rant on TMZ Live including his heated back-and-forth with Van Lathan. SUBSCRIBE: http://po.st/TMZSubscribe About TMZ: TMZ has consistently been credited for breaking the biggest stories dominating the entertainment news landscape and changed the way the public gets their news.

In a profile for The New York Times, where he tried to clarify his absurd, ahistorical comments, but he failed miserably.

I said the idea of sitting in something for 400 years sounds sounds like a choice to me, I never said its a choice. I never said slavery itself like being shackled in chains was a choice, he said. Thats why I went from slave to 400 years to mental prison to this and that. If you look at the clip you see the way my mind works.

He continued, delineating the path of many a Kanye West public conflagration. I think an extreme thing; I adjust it, I adjust it, I adjust it, he explained. Thats the way I get to it, but I have to push to, you know, the furthest concept possible.

This “explanation” is way beyond a reach. Nonsensical reasoning for a nonsensical statement.

Kanye was also asked about whether he’s worried about some of his Black fans leaving him and he’s confident that he shouldn’t be worried about that. “Its just not going to happen…Like I said, wouldnt leave. Like yes, got a bunch of different opinions. Youre not always going to agree, but theyre not going to leave.”

He may be right, but that’s a hell of a thing to bet on.
