Why Kanye West Shouldn’t Play Politics And Footsie With MAGA Stans

The Donald Trump/Kanye conundrum we’re all scratching our heads over is appropriate for the age we live in. A reality show president, a disassociated rap celebrity spokesperson being used as propaganda puppet, this is what 2018 has wrought, America.

As has been pointed out on many occasions, Donald Trump has not shown even the slightest inkling of tact or dignity in lashing out at those who he feels have wronged him in some way. Curiously, those same wildly emotional displays that are heaved at Colin Kaepernick, protesting athletes, LaVar Ball, NFL owners, Hilary Clinton and whoever else, were lacking in addressing white nationalism and white supremacy in Charlottesville, VA, during the Austin, Texas bombings nor the attempted massacre at a Waffle House.

In a paradigm that has been repeated by a multitude of celebrity geniuses in creative fields of prominence, the genius that Kanye West has undoubtedly displayed in crafting his multitude of timeless recordings, as well as the accolades that have come with them, seemingly has fooled West into believing he possesses divine insight in other manners.  That’s fine on its face. However, America’s cult of personality is such that his words have greater weight than most of us.  That’s dangerous when they view being espoused are cluttered at best.

Kanye West has performed a great service to the Black Community – Big things are happening and eyes are being opened for the first time in Decades – Legacy Stuff! Thank you also to Chance and Dr. Darrell Scott, they really get it (lowest Black & Hispanic unemployment in history).

For example, recently West admitted he wasn’t as familiar with conservative views and beliefs.  Yet, he wants to rock out with Trump?

I haven’t done enough research on conservatives to call myself or be called one. I’m just refusing to be enslaved by monolithic thought.

For his part, Donald Trump has put the pedal to the metal in using West for every bit of cache he can muster. You see, a demonstrated, public relationship with Kanye West gives Donald J. Trump the ultimate racial alibi; “Some of my best friends are black”.

This is your boy, Kanye. This is who you side with?

A border showdown in Tijuana as nearly 200 migrants refuse to leave. Most of them are women and children, who have traveled 2,500 miles, for over a month, seeking asylum from Central America. The ordeal drew a furious response from President Trump. https://t.co/AftGiXFOGh

I mean, all name calling aside, what would you call a black dude wearing a MAGA hate in photo flanked by two white dudes, one of which is throwing up a white supremacist hand signal, if you DIDN’T know it was Kanye West? Right. It’s not a matter of opinion, as Chance the Rapper would allude to in his defense of West, but national politics is literally a matter of life and death. To pledge allegiance to a quasi-dictator is certainly his right, but it’s our right to call him out on his dangerous, racist bedfellows.
