Canelo Revives Mike Tyson’s Punch Out In Latest DAZN Promo

End of the year promotion is everything.

The end of the boxing year is upon us. The last two major fights of 2019 are here and these fighters are stepping out of their shells.

New subscription-based streaming service DAZN unveiled a new Saul “Canelo” Alvarez promo for social media and it is a throwback delight. “Cinnamon” revamps the Nintendo classic, Mike Tyson’s Punchout for a glorious extension of his branding.

Alvarez holds no punches as his avatar runs through a memory lane of past knockouts. From James Kirkland to the brutal Amir Khan KO and the GGG decision, DAZN hits the mark with the visuals.

Canelo Alvarez fights Rocky Fielding this weekend at Madison Square Garden making his streaming service debut.

To close out the year, Jermell and Jermall Charlo fight in a headlining doubleheader at the Barclays Center. Jermall Charlo has been very vocal this year and he steps out of the box with a spoof on the Rocky/CREED franchise.

Teaming up with Dancing Dan, a comedian on Wild N Out, the two go through a hilarious faux training regime. Dancing Dan plays Burgess Meredith’s iconic Mickey Goldmill from the Rocky films and challenges Charlo.

From taunting him with images of nemesis, Daniel Jacobs to punching miniature slabs of meat, the duo make for comedy gold.

Boxing’s new jacks are making a name in the void left by Floyd Mayweather.
