Tom Brady has looked bulletproof in both the NFL as a high-level quarterback and in life as one of the most successful athletes on the planet. However, since his un-retirement from football, the real-life consequences of going against the adage “happy wife, happy life” are affecting his Tampa Bay Buccaneers teammates.
“Some of the players are irritated that all the talk’s on Tom and his messed-up love life,” an unnamed source reportedly told RadarOnline.com. “Others find it damn funny that he’s this supposed Greatest of All Time player but now is groveling to his wife for one last chance to prove himself. There are some pretty cruel nicknames and jokes doing the rounds.”
Tom’s return to the NFL has split the Brady household as Gisele has reportedly been living in a separate home from Tom for months. She did not attend the Buccaneers’ first home game, although his children did. Brady spent his training camp break with his kids in the Bahamas, minus Gisele Bündchen. He also allegedly spent some of that break from training camp in the Hamptons visiting his other son with former girlfriend Bridget Moynahan, minus Gisele.
Per his head coach Todd Bowles, he even began taking Wednesdays off to deal with being a 45-year-old veteran. However, the internet believes it is to show Gisele that he is attempting to strike a better balance between being a professional football star with being a father and husband.
“For most players, it’s important. But I think when you play in the league a certain amount of time, and you prepare a certain way, it’s not necessary to practice that guy all the time,” said Bowles during a press conference. You’re going to practice, but you’re not going to practice all the time. You’ll get a day off here and there because it’s a long season.”
If anyone has earned a day off, it’s Brady. The multi-time Super Bowl winner prepares at the highest levels and is in his 23rd season at 45. However, Gisele, a supermodel who practically gave up her career to support that of her superstar husband, was urging Tom to leave the game alone. Still, like most professional athletes, he couldn’t leave the game alone.
Even with Hurricane Ian battering Florida, Brady and Gisele have taken refuge in Miami, but not in the same residence, and the media is soaking up all of the mess instead of talking about the Tampa Bay Bucs’ actual season.
“Tom could do without people laughing at him behind his back. That’s just brutal and demeaning to the guy,” the unnamed source continued to RadarOnline.com.
Still, his teammates outwardly show love to Brady per the aggressive situation during the Bucs vs. New Orleans Saints in Week 2. Bucs receiver Mike Evans said he believed Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore punched running back Leonard Fournette in the face and pushed quarterback Tom Brady. Evans was suspended without pay for one game for his role and for violating unnecessary roughness and unsportsmanlike conduct rules. Evans has been eligible to return since the Bucs’ home opener against the Green Bay Packers.
As the rumors swirl about discontent with Brady’s personal life in the locker room, he still has his shooters ready to go to war for him. If Brady is the QB GOAT, then he shows that nothing is ever perfect, even when it looks so from the outside. Now the world can watch the most extraordinary balancing act in football history between a GOAT, a model, and a pack of hungry Buccaneers searching for another championship.
