‘The Little Mermaid Live!’ Cast Revealed, Queen Latifah Cast As Ursula

ABC just announced its plans for its live concert production of the Little Mermaid—not to be confused with the live-action film starring Grownish’s Halle Bailey.

The Little Mermaid Live! will star Auli’iCravalho, the actress who voiced Moana, as Ariel. The role of Ursula will be played by none other than Queen Latifah, known for role in Chicago, Set it Off, and most recently, Lee DanielsStar on FOX.

Artist Shaggy will be lending his voice as Sebastian.

While the remaining cast member has yet to be named, the show will take place on November 5.

According to PEOPLE, it’s all apart of honoring The Little Mermaid’s 30th anniversary. The show is said to “take viewers on a magical adventure under the sea as live musical performances by a star-studded cast will be interwoven into the broadcast of the original feature film.”

ABC also notes that “this never-before-seen hybrid format will feature beautifully intricate sets and costumes, with music from the original animated film and the Tony Award-winning Broadway stage version.”

The live-action film’s production, however, isn’t slated to begin until 2020. Aside from Bailey as Ariel, it has been revealed that One Direction’s Harry Styles will play Prince Eric, Melissa McCarthy will act as Ursula, Javier Bardem as King Triton, and Awkwafina will portray Scuttle. Still no word on Sebastian.
