The Atlanta Falcons Don’t Like Julio Jones-T.O. Fraternizing

Some fans might be perplexed by the absence of Julio Jones from Atlanta Falcons offseason work outs if they weren’t properly schooled on the fact that individual players with non-guaranteed contracts must put their personal self-interests ahead of the team to ensure their own financial security.

However, the Atlanta Falcons themselves aren’t exactly up in arms about that development, but rather the cozy relationship shared by Jones and retired NFL malcontent Terrell Owens.

Jones had been woking out with Owens, who recently declined an invitation to attend his induction into the Football Hall of Fame and is seeking to make a comeback at 44 years old. Owens recently ran a 4.43 time in the 40-yard dash. Ridiculous athleticism, but teams aren’t likely to bite.

During his own Hall of Fame career, Owens rapidly went from the Eagles No. 1 receiver to a contract dispute that saw him get sent home and shipped out for good. Longtime Falcons reporter D. Orlando Ledbetter said on ESPN Radio in Charlotte that the Falcons dont feel good about the Jones-Owens relationship.

The fact that hes running around with Terrell Owens has the front office uneasy, Ledbetter said.

According to Ledbetter, Jones wants an adjustment to his contract, and the relationship between Jones and the team is in a bad place right now.

The coach was expecting him in here, Ledbetter said. Then a few weeks later Julio informed them hes not going to be here.
