McGregor continues to be the wildest fighter on the planet.
Conor Mcgregor likes to remind us all that he is the baddest man on the planet, and not just for his fighting acumen.
On November 4th, McGregor got the chance to hang out with his idol “Iron” Mike Tyson and share a smoke of his Tyson Ranch marijuana strain with him as well. McGregor is still on suspension by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for his involvement in the UFC 229 melee that erupted inside of the T-Mobile Arena on October 6th.

Still, McGregor noted his admiration with a little shade towards the former heavyweight juggernaut on Instagram, where art meets polarization daily. In the caption, Mcgregor waxed poetic about both his ability to bury the hatchet with Tyson over past remarks and his undying adoration for Tyson’s legacy.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) officially raised the testing threshold of marijuana metabolites from 50 ng/mL to 150 ng/mL. That represents a 300% increase, which means you can have 3x more marijuana metabolites in your system before it’s a positive test.
The increased threshold from 50 nanograms per milliliter to 150 has certainly resulted in a substantial drop in the number of suspensions. However, this does not completely throw open the doors for marijuana use in the fight world.
I went to see Mike Tyson last night in the Helix, Dublin, Ireland. I love and respect Mike Tyson. And I love the Helix. I won my first World Title here, and also my second. It was good to meet you Mike. You spoke some things about me in the past which I did not like and I was happy to speak to you face to face, put it to bed and have some fun. You are in good spirits and I was happy to see this! I will always have the height of respect for you! Some decisions you have made around your finances I do not agree with. As a fighter you must fight here. The most. And this is a fight that never ends. It is even a fight that we pass on to our next in line. Our blood line. Make sure you stay switched on with those around you at all times. You have good people around you now, I can tell. But stay switched on. Your Marijuana strain that you grow on your own ranch “KO Kush” is really nice. It was an honour to taste it and I wish you and your team all the best with this endeavor. Just remember, if someone tries to rip you. Rip their nose off their face. You are a fighting icon and deserve endless love and respect! And from me, you will always have it! Don’t let anyone take anything from you. You owe nobody nothing. It is you who is owed. Always remember that. I love you Mike! Iron Mike Tyson! Nick Diaz’s first run-in with the Nevada State Athletic Commission, when he failed a drug test after a fight with Pride lightweight champion Takanori Gomi, was due to a reading of 175 ng/mL.
Still, it must be noted that even if McGregor passed a drug test by these new standards, the brashness of the timing is remarkable. McGregor already broke a few of the rules in the UFC Code of Conduct such as:
“Fighters shall conduct themselves in accordance with commonly accepted standards of decency, social convention, and morals, and fighters will not commit any act or become involved in any situation or occurrence or make any statement which will reflect negatively upon or bring disrepute, contempt, scandal, ridicule or disdain to the fighter or the UFC,” and “Derogatory or offensive conduct, including without limitation insulting language, symbols, or actions about a person’s ethnic background, heritage, color, race, national origin, age, religion, disability, gender or sexual orientation.”
And more famously with his Barclays Center melee against Khabib Nurmagomedov
CONOR MCGREGOR SAMPLED MIKE TYSON’S MARIJUANA “KO KUSH” AND APPROVES: “AN HONOUR TO TASTE IT”
“Your Marijuana strain that you grow on your own ranch “KO Kush” is really nice. It was an honour to taste it and I wish you and your team all the best with this endeavor,” wrote UFC star and former champion Conor McGregor, who recently took to social media and revealed he had an interesting meeting with boxing legend Mike Tyson.
McGregor went way too far in his “promotion” of UFC 229 but so did the UFC when it used the broken portions of its own UFC Code of Conduct as marketing collateral to sell tickets. After the infamous debacle, McGregor went immediately to Cowboys Stadium the next day to be there for the Cowboys Sunday football game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
In short, McGregor invariably always comes out ahead by doing something considered nefarious by popular convention.
Meanwhile, Khabib Nurmagomedov, who although was negligent for allowing his emotions to overtake his good judgment at the end of UFC 229, is still without his purse money and the ability to fight.
I’ve said it before and I will say it again, Conor McGregor is the poster boy for white angst and rebellion. His bad boy persona is celebrated as the spirit of America whilst he is not even American.
Pay attention to the distractions that shield away from the real issues in the UFC, which is that corporatization and fealty to the almighty dollar have tainted the biggest organization in the sport.
Conor McGregor and Mike Tyson have made amends publicly over the Tyson Ranch peace pipe, however, is that acceptable for anyone else but Conor McGregor?
