Marlins hire Mattingly as manager

Just one week after stepping down as manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers, “Donnie Baseball” is back.

The Miami Marlins have reportedly hired Mattingly as their next manager in a four-year contract

Mattingly, who led the Dodgers to three straight NL West division titles, has been hired to spark a turnaround in a Marlins team which features some of the best young talent in the league in Giancarlo Stanton, Jose Fernandez and Dee Gordon.

The Marlins finished 71-91 this season and have not had a winning season since 2009.
