A recent photo of former Los Angeles Lakers greats Byron Scott, Robert Horry, Michael Cooper, and James Worthy standing behind their wives at a recent celebrity charity fundraiser hosted by the Harold & Carole Pump Foundation has social media in a frenzy. The NBA greats, ranging in age from 70 to 56 years are accompanied by what appears to be much younger women. In the case of Hall of Famers Cooper, 70, and James Worthy, 65, their partners look more than half their ages.
The photo prompted a widespread response on social media. Seeing interracial couples is not anything new to the NBA, but Black twitter couldn’t help but put the OGs on blast for leaning heavily into the stereotype.

“Y’all come look at this: there goes the neighborhood smh..,” the account captioned above the photo that has now gone viral.
One fan tried to discredit the point of the post saying, “Just so you know, Robert Horry’s wife is black & latina!”
It was too late, because the people were already triggered.
“And they always look so happy with the scraps that whyt and non-black males don’t want,” one fan said, criticizing the Lakers’ legends.
“Not a Black queen in sight,” one fan captioned above a meme of 50cent shaking his head.
“And you wonder why generational wealth still continues to escape the black community?! What a shame!,” complained one fan.
“Is that the cast of the “Fresh Prince of Belle Air?,” one user joked.
“White washing out their blackness,” another netizen quipped.
“The snow bunny epidemic is at an all time high,” an online user stated.
What’s Wrong With Black Men Finding Love With White Women?
Some fans saw no problem with the photo. Just older men with money who have decided to choose peace with younger women who only require a lavish lifestyle to be happy.
“I see happily married black men with loving wives. What am I missing,” one fan commented.
“I bet they all have peace,” another fan commented in favor of the Lakers legends doing what makes them happy.
“I bet you none of em talking that, I don’t need a man sh*t,” an X user agreed.
As one fan pointed out, “80 percent of Black men are married to Black women, but yall seek validation in pro athletes.”
The past Lakers champions all look happy. Several of them are in their second and third marriages, so all we can do is hope that they are enjoying retirement. No need to hate the player. Hate the game.
