J. Cole Serious About Pursuing NBA?

Superstar rapper J. Cole regrets abandoning his hoop dreams for the microphone and recently spoke candidly about it. Despite his tremendous success and acclaim in music, his basketball Jones is still calling him, proving that the unique relationship between athletes and rappers — the hoop dream and the mic dream — remains as inseparable as ever.

But according to Master P, Cole seriously training for a shot in the NBA.

Master P gave it a shot before, playing in a preseason pro game with the Toronto Raptors and actually showing a sweet jumper and got some buckets.

According to source.com, Cole recently linked up with Master P for a Puma commercial that insinuated that he’s ready to get his head back in the game. The No Limit head honcho was the perfect person for this project because he was once on an NBA roster after having a successful rap career.

“But, what I told him … this a different time we’re in,” Master P said. “They’re going to pick you apart! You’re gonna have to be able to hit every shot and if you don’t hit every shot, they — you know in the NBA, they don’t hit every shot but they believe in them. So, you’re gonna have to go somewhere where the team really believe in you and the players believe in you.”

Could this be history repeating itself?
