‘It’s The Creme De La Creme’| Serena Williams Is Excited About Super Bowl Commercial, Always Been A Dream Of Hers

Serena Williams has done many photo shoots and commercials. But none tops doing a Super Sunday ad. Williams, who is famous for her backhand and forehand, but also her popularity among the masses, will appear in a not yet fully released commercial during Sunday’s Super Bowl.

For Williams, it’s a dream come true, and she told USA Today those athletes have a “vision board” for themselves as it pertains to public appearances and being in a Super Bowl commercial is at the top.

“Well, growing up as an athlete, it’s like, it’s the creme de la creme. You have a vision board, being in a Super Bowl commercial is like first on the board,” Williams said.

Although the full version of the Michelob Ultra commercial hasn’t been released, a jovial Williams gave a sneak peak of what’s to come during Sunday’s big game. She’s joined by Pro Football Hall of Famer Peyton Manning, golf superstar Brooks Koepka, NBA All-Star Jimmy Butler, soccer star Alex Morgan, rising hip-hop and R&B star Becky G and actor Steve Buscemi.

With the commercial scene set in a bowling alley, the tennis GOAT walks in with everybody looking stunned as she makes her entrance. Buscemi proceeds to shout, “game time.”

For Williams, who hasn’t competed in seven months after retiring during the first round of Wimbledon, it looked like some refreshing fun.

Williams was quick to give praise to Buscemi during her interview as well.

“I’ve watched a lot of Steve’s work. Obviously ‘Fargo’ was a big one, but there was this movie called ‘Twenty Bucks’ that not many people have heard of. That’s actually when I first started watching Steve and I’ve been watching him ever since.”

Williams Training To Rejoin Tour: Still Searching For That Elusive 24th Grand Slam

Last time we saw Williams on the tennis court, she was bowing out of Wimbledon with an injured leg. The seven-time champion at the All-England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club has been hunting that 24th-career Grand Slam title since 2017. Ironically, her 23rd title win came at the Australian Open while eight weeks pregnant with her daughter, Olympia. The next grand slam title will tie her with Margaret Court.

When asked about her returning to the tour, Williams expressed excitement to be back on the court and ramping up her training and fitness. But she needs to get her body in top physical condition before getting back into intense match play.

“I’m back to training, which is exciting. So I’m just trying to make sure I’m getting a little more fit training-wise, just getting my body and muscles used to the tennis training, because that’s totally different from just regular training. And then we’ll see what happens, no pressure.”

Tennis needs Serena Williams. Grand slams aren’t the same, and she’s the biggest draw in the sport. Having accomplished so much as a tennis player and person, believe it or not, Williams still has a few things to check off the list and her Super Bowl ad appearance is one of them.
