Kwame Brown is now painting his Bust Life bull’s-eye on Dwyane Wade’s child Zaya Wade.
On the anniversary of Kobe and Gianna Bryant’s death, Zaya Wade showed support for Kobe’s memory by wearing a custom jersey dress featuring the Lakers legends jersey number.
Although Brown prefaced his statements saying that “he doesn’t like to speak about a man’s child so I’ll speak about the man,” he went in on D. Wade’s masculinity, Bryant’s Christian religious beliefs, and more.
Kwame Brown isn't the gate keeper in how to honor Kobe.

Zaya Wade’s Tribute
Zaya Wade took to social media to share a love for Bryant with an Instagram post wearing an outfit that Brown described as “disrespectful” and feels the dress represents effeminate influencing of Black males in the pop culture narrative.
Zaya simply captioned the post, “always remembering and honoring Kobe and Gianna.”
Since being derided by many after being drafted as the No. 1 overall pick in 2001, Brown has always felt targeted. He clapped back at Gilbert Arenas when he stopped by the “Up In Smoke” podcast and called Brown a “show pony” for the Washington Wizards.
Brown Comes For D-Wade
Brown took his “Bust Life” YouTube platform on Thursday to fully come for D-Wade, leaving no doubt about his disappointment with Zaya Wade’s tribute.

“As a man, I don’t think Dwyane Wade levels up as a man anymore, and that’s just my opinion, Dwyane Wade.
“You are letting your woman control your house,” Kwame said. “You played this thing called basketball; this is a game. Kobe Bryant’s children are not honoring him by wearing a dress. Kobe Bryant’s wife is not honoring him by wearing a dress.
“Kobe Bryant was a masculine man.”

Kwame’s Uncompromising Stance
Brown describes talking about Christianity with Bryant and says that Zaya’s tribute goes against Bryant’s core religious principles.
“I’m not saying there’s anything against homosexuals, but [Kobe] is a heterosexual man. Why is he being honored by making his jersey into a dress? Wear his goddamn jersey for the day to honor him without the dress part,” said Brown.
Brown felt that the actual offense was converting the jersey into a dress. He thought that if Zaya would have just wore a regular Kobe jersey, the tribute would have been in better taste.
“Let’s please not show our Black brother in this light. This is no offense to nobody else. This man was a heterosexual man with a wife and a family. There’s no reason for this to be tied to Kobe Bryant. None whatsoever.”
A Step Further
Brown takes it further, saying he’d wish “you guys would stop disrespecting the heterosexual man.”
Over the years, D-Wade’s unconditional support of his child has led to backlash. He famously has received ample criticism from rap star Boosie and shed light on the parenting dynamic.
Girl Dad
In the comments on Zaya Wade’s post, Dwyane wrote that he was a proud “girl dad” in the comments. That is his way of showing homage to Kobe Bryant amid the judgments and negativity.
However, Brown continues to use his platform at times like a bully pulpit indicting people, like Wade, who hold more inclusive, acceptance stances.
