Happy 50th Birthday In Heaven To Music & Sports Boss Phife Dawg From ATCQ

Happy 50th birthday to the legendary Phife Dawg from A Tribe Called Quest. Phife was a long time friend of the TSL family and his presence and sports knowledge was evident in the projects he did with The Shadow League and the radio show (Fanalysts Sportsrap with Phife The Gambler) that he launched with his childhood friend, sportswriter JR Gamble.

In honor of Phife’s 50th, we bless you with a rare interview with JR Gamble, Phife, Busta Rhymes and legendary music CEO Chris Lighty (RIP).  The episode was entitled “The Native Tongues Reunion” because the three music pioneers hadn’t spoken to each other in a long time. Gamble was able to get them on the line and once they reconnected the show morphed into a trip down memory lane. Many jewels were dropped that day and exclusive insight into hip-hop history that had never been revealed before. It’s the last time that these guys would really ever kick it again or do an interview together.
