Good Morning: KD, D12, Boogie and Michael Carter-Williams Went Off

Dwight Howard dominated the likes of Josh McRoberts, Bismack Biyombo and an injured Al Jefferson to the tune of 14 points at 26 rebounds, as the Houston Rockets beat the Charlottle Bobcats to open their season.

Kevin Durant put up 42 points in OKC's opener, and the Thunder went on to beat the Jazz.

But the most impressive performance was Michael Carter-Williams. On the night Allen Iverson officially retired, the 76ers rookie put up 22 points and 12 assists with nine steals, a record for an NBA debut. The Sixers stunned the Heat, 114-110.

Boogie Cousins isn't messing around after getting that extension. Big boy had 30 and 14.

Andrea Bargnani put up six points in his NYK debut, in which he was booed. Welcome to New York.

The Boston Red Sox won the 2013 World Series in six games, beating the St. Louis Cardinals in front of a packed Fenway Crowd, 6-1. John Lackey, derided for much of his career in Boston, was a hero on the mound once again, as the Sox rode Big Papi's bat to victory on the offensive end.

49ers DB Aldon Smith turned himself in to police.

Redskins TE Fred Davis tells reporters that he falls asleep during meetings and wants to get out of dodge.
