Golfing While Black Is Apparently A Crime In Trump’s America

As Charlamagne Tha God from The Breakfast Club would say, What in the Miracle Whip is going on” in the great state of Pennsylvania ?

From the bogus incarceration of rapper Meek Mill to the arrest of two innocent black men in Starbucks to this recent incident of discrimination at a Pennsylvania golf club, African-Americans are being harassed and attacked daily.  A Pennsylvania golf club called police on five black members this weekend after the clubs co-owner felt that the group was playing too slowly and claimed that they did not leave the course when asked.

According to deadspin.com, the membersall five of whom are black womensay that they were discriminated against. No charges were filed, according to the York Daily Journal, and the golf club has now issued an apology.

I felt we were discriminated against, one of the women, Myneca Ojo, told the Daily Record. It was a horrific experience.

The clubs other co-owner, JJ Chronisterwife of Jordan Chronister and daughter-in-law of Steve Chronisterissued a public apology to the women and has asked them to meet with her to fully understand what happened so that we can ensure it never happens again.

Im sure Black people are getting tired of the apologies after they are already humiliated, discriminated against and mistreated. It would be nice if they could be treated like everyone else rather than the target of racism and bigotry. Often times, its jealousy. There are tons of successful black people in this country and yes, many of them play golf. Since Tiger Woods changed the game, black faces have been infiltrating and integrating golf clubs all over the country.

Some of our country’s citizens have a hard time with change, which seems to be the case in this instance. Not only were five women golfing but they were black. Double whammy !

4/21/2018 Racial and Gender Discrimination at Grandview Golf Club

Former York County Commissioner Steve Chronister

Deadspin says, “The five women belong to a group called Sisters in the Fairway and are all experienced golfers, they told the Daily Journal. They were on the second hole at Grandview Golf Club when the father of the clubs co-owner approached the group to say that they were playing too slowly.”

The father was obviously a racist who decided to cause problems for the black women in the name of Trump’s new America.

“One of the women told the Associated Press that she then consulted a club pro, who said that the group was fine because they were keeping pace with the people ahead of them. The women decided to skip the next hole anyway to avoid any potential problems.

After the ninth hole, three of the five women left; the two who chose to keep playing were approached by the man who had spoken to them earlier, whose name is Steve Chronister, and his son, the clubs co-owner, Jordan Chronister. The pair reportedly told the women that they had taken too long a break at the turn and needed to leave the course. The women said they responded by claiming that their break had not been too long, pointing out that the group behind them was still taking a break of their own and not yet ready to tee off.”

The five are part of a larger group of local women known as Sisters in the Fairway. The group has been around for at least a decade, and all of its members are experienced players who have golfed all over the county and world. They’re very familiar with golf etiquette, she said.

It’s a disheartening and somewhat agitating story but in reality, such discrimination has been going on since Americas inception. Obviously, the women were targets and some racists just can’t stand to see Black people shining and will do everything in their power to disrupt the peace.

One of the women, Sandra Thompson, isnt certain that a meeting is the right solution.

There needs to be something more substantial to understand they dont treat people in this manner, she told the Associated Press.

This was just another case of being Black in America and if African-Americans want to avoid being discriminated against in white-owned business, then they must start opening exclusive courses where they set the tone on how people will be treated.  That way we can have less of these meaningless and disingenuous apologies. Some of these old school golf courses and country clubs that were once racially exclusive are just too set in their ways to change with an evolving world.
