Golden State Warriors To Play In An Empty Arena On Thursday

The city of San Francisco announced a ban Wednesday on gatherings of more than 1,000 people, which includes home games of the NBA’s Golden State Warriors, amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Kerry Crowley of the Bay Area News Group provided a statement from Mayor London Breed:

Former Knicks coach David Fizdale was on The Jump with Rachel Nichols and said that when he was in high school in LA there were warring factions and neighborhoods and gangs so fights popped off at basketball games. In one instance, to avoid the violence, fans were banned fro the game and his team had to play in an empty gym. Fizdale says it’s a weird experience.

More like a scrimmage than an actual game.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr will have to get his young crew of ballers led by two-time MVP Steph Curry prepared to play in an empty stadium for the first time in their NBA careers.
