We all knew E.J. Manuel had some wheels on him, but he wasn’t supposed to be running away with the starting job in training camp this easily. Manuel has used his mobility to create time behind the line of scrimmage, but he rarely takes off and runs anymore.
In his first two preseason games, Manuel has completed 26 of 33 attempts for 199 yards with two touchdowns. On Friday night, Manuel scrambled for one yard while Kevin Kolb hasn’t made much traction in the position battle.
Kolb has one more preseason game to make an impression on Doug Marrone, but at this point he just doesn't look like he has the tools in his shed to cut it as a starter. EJ Manuel appears ready to be thrown into the fire.
