Desean Jackson Is Confusing Revis Island With The Bahamas

In the midst of his best individual season, Desean Jackson is just as loquacious as ever. His upcoming matchup with Darrelle Revis doesn't change that. In fact, he's feeling bolder than ever.

"I'm definitely sure his coaches are confident in him, but I don't think he can run with me, I don't think he's as fast as me," Jackson said Tuesday, via "So it will be a challenge, man. He's a great player, nothing to take away from him. I'm just focused on what we have to do here, which is win a football game.

"We're not going to make it into a one-on-one battle, we're not going to (make it) me versus Revis," Jackson added. "It's the Eagles versus Tampa Bay, and at the end of the game, as long as we're winning, that's all that matters to me."

Revis tor his ACL just over a year ago. Running with Desean Jackson was never going to be an option. There's technique, instinct and angles involved.

Revis is stronger though and he can use his strength at the line of scrimmage to keep the frail Jackson from exploding off the line. However, there probably won't be as much man coverage as their last matchup in 2011 when Jackson was submerged on Revis Island for 28 yards on two catches by Revis. Greg Schiano has Revis playing more zone coverage meaning it'll be a group effort for the Bucs secondary. We'll see how long Jackson can keep running before tiring out while the Bucs corners sit in their pockets anticipating throws from Nick Foles in his direction.
