Dallas Cowboys Rookie Issued Arrest Warrant For Car Accident | Bad Timing Before Wild Card Action

As the Dallas Cowboys gear up for a crucial wild card playoff game against the Tampa Bay Bucs, one of their players has found himself in trouble after an arrest warrant has been issued for him.

Why Did Dallas Cowboys Player Sam Williams Get Arrested?

Sam Williams, 23, was involved in a nasty car accident last month that thankfully did not severely harm anyone involved.

“The driver of the Corvette is Samuel Williams, a football player with the Dallas Cowboys. Both parties were transported to a local hospital for precautionary reasons, but no serious injuries have been reported.” Plano Police said following the accident.

Plano Police Issue Warrant For Samuel Williams

The Plano Police Department issued the warrant for Williams’ arrest for reckless driving. Further details involving the incident were not disclosed.

While the arrest warrant is for a public figure, Plano Police will not be pursuing his arrest.

“At this time, there is no plan to find and arrest” Williams, a police spokesperson said, adding that the 23-year-old NFL player “has been contacted to turn himself in,” according to TMZ.

Though if Williams is pulled over by police, “he would be arrested then” police said.

The car accident in question was one that left Williams’ Corvette totaled. The accident happened when Williams was driving home from work and an Infiniti attempted to cross lanes in front of him, which led to the collision with his Corvette in Plano, Texas.

Accident Happened Five Miles From Cowboys Headquarters

The accident only happened 5 miles from the Cowboys’ headquarters in Frisco.

Following the accident, Williams tweeted out “I’m okay everyone so is the other person that was involved,”

“You’re looking at the car like, man, but God works in mysterious ways,” Williams said following the crash. He also said that he had a few minor cuts and scratches. “I know he has something in store for me.” according to The New York Post.

When looking at the photos of Williams’ black Corvette after the collision, it’s easy to understand why he said what he said. The Corvette is totaled and smashed up. It’s a miracle anyone inside that car was able to walk away relatively unharmed.

Williams seems to be fine and he is currently not listed on the inactive list by the Dallas Cowboys as of Friday even with the pending arrest warrant. But it is uncertain whether Williams will be playing on Monday night in the wild-card round against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, or if he will even be traveling with the team.

Who Is NFL Player Samuel Williams

Williams was selected in the second round of the 2022 draft by the Dallas Cowboys. Since he was drafted, Williams has been a bright spot on defense with four sacks and one forced fumble, three fumble recoveries, and 15 tackles.

It is unfortunate that something like this happens right before a playoff game for the Cowboys, who already lost to Tampa 19-3 on opening night. Either way, with the upcoming test for the 13-4 Dallas Cowboys, they will all be preparing for Monday’s game while hoping for the best for their teammate.
