Fighting for the second time at the MGM Grand in Detroit,  a win for Shields (3-0, 1 KO) means she will taste a title faster than her more famous super middleweight predecessors like Laila Ali. Widely considered to be the best female boxer in history, Ali won her first world title in her 12th bout.

Ana Julaton won her first super bantamweight title in her eighth fight, Christy Martin in her 21st, and Lucia Rijker in her ninth fight. Famed trainer and feared boxer Ann Wolfe won a world title in her 10th fight and current pound-for-pound best Cecelia Braekhus won her first belt in her 11th fight.

Current UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion and former Strikeforce champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino will walk Shields into the ring tonight. The two sparred in advance of Cyborg’s title fight at UFC 214 on July 29th.

“I never thought it would happen, that the sports of MMA and boxing would come together like it has with the upcoming Mayweather-McGregor fight, said Justino at the weigh in. I think its great and incredible and could possibly open the door for other fights between the sports.

Catch the fight tonight live from the MGM Grand in Detroit live on Showtime at 10:30pm EST/PST.
