Cavs Coach Tyronn Lue Is Throwing A House Party Tonight

Cleveland made quick work of the Indiana Pacers in their opening round playoff series, throwing the broom at tough-talking Paul George and his Indiana teammates.

Dismantling the Pacers in four games has provided the Cavs with a much-needed rest without causing controversy for resting starters during actual games.

Cleveland seems to be very comfortable with their playoff prospects. They also seem a little bored. So much so that Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue is throwing a TV watch party.

While the defending champions wait to see who they will play in the second round of the NBA playoffs, Lue has invited his coaching staff and “60 or 70” members of the Cleveland organization to his suburban crib Thursday night to see Toronto play Milwaukee in Game 6.  The Raptors lead 3-2, but it has been a back and forth series and expect a Game 7 on Saturday.

The winner of the series will have the right to be eliminated by the Cavs.

According to the Associated Press, the Cavs’ team chef will be on hand, and Lue says 1,800 chicken wings — “fried hard, sauce on the side” — have been ordered to feed the gatherers.

Cleveland used similar get togethers to bond last year en route to winning the citys first NBA Championship. Coach Lue knows better than to mess with a winning formula, so hes using this week-long break to build mental cohesion and chemistry while Toronto and Milwaukee pound each others heads in.

Cleveland couldnt have asked for a better situation. Being able to rest key veterans who are nicked up from a grueling 82-game regular season is priceless.

Why not throw a party?
