Already Moving On? | Dwyane Wade Parting Ways With TNT, He Has Other Things To Do, Like Oversee A Utah Jazz Rebuild

Dwyane Wade is one of the greatest basketball players we’ve seen in this generation, and he undoubtedly left his mark on the game of basketball forever.

Though he hasn’t picked up a basketball professionally in a while, he carried his basketball knowledge and fandom to the analyst desk. But after just three short years with TNT, Dwyane Wade is parting ways with the network. According to several outlets, the future Hall of Famer is leaving to pursue other business interests.

This is shocking because many people enjoyed having “Flash” on TNT next to the likes of WNBA superstar Candace Parker, former teammate Shaquille O’neal, and Adam Lefko on Tuesday night basketball coverage.

But multiple sources say it wasn’t for a lack of money. Turner Sports offered Dwyane Wade a new contract to remain at TNT, but the Miami Heat legend turned the offer down in favor of other business ventures Wade wants to pursue.

While many believe that Wade is leaving TNT due to recent cost-reduction tactics by parent company Warner Sports, which include a plethora of layoffs, and forms of media being expunged by HBO and other networks and streaming services to save money, Wade isn’t leaving because of that.

He has lucrative investments and businesses that he wants to focus on. One of these businesses that Dwyane Wade is probably particularly focused on is his ownership stake in the Utah Jazz, a franchise that has officially gone into rebuild mode.

The Utah Jazz notably traded franchise stars Donovan Mitchell, and Rudy Gobert to other teams for a truckload of first-round picks. The Jazz are obviously in rebuild mode and are trying to either tank or land high picks for some of the hottest players coming into the draft, such as Victor Wembanyama, who is a freak athlete and is in every sense of the word an NBA “unicorn.”

Soul In Control: Dwyane Wade Purchases Ownership Stake In Utah Jazz

Wade might be taking this opportunity to be more hands on in the organization while using his basketball knowledge try to take the front office by storm in helping rebuild this team.

Wade is making a business decision to move away from the analyst desk and figure out other things to focus on within his business portfolio. Not to mention D Wade has a beautiful wife in Gabrielle Union, and a family he probably wants to spend more time with and watch grow up instead of spending every second dealing with basketball situations. We probably could see Wade on future basketball shows, maybe even with TNT, but right now his focus is clearly on other less time-consuming endeavors.
