LeBron James is on the cusp of breaking the all-time scoring record of 38,387 points held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and this has sent ticket prices soaring. James now is only 63 points away, and fans are anticipating that he will break the record this upcoming Tuesday against the Thunder at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Prices Through the Roof
On Feb. 2 Bleacher Report tweeted that the average price for a floor seat was $92K, but that number has gone up since James has inched closer to the record.

According to Fox Business, courtside tickets are now $242K for two after taxes and fees. It cost $100K per seat to sit between the scorer’s table and Lakers’ bench. The other sets of courtside seats are between $60,500 and $108,900.
The lowest cost for nosebleed seats are currently on Ticketmaster is $319 and the highest ticket is listed at $599 but they only tickets available scattered across the 300-level.
The average NBA tickets for games this season where priced from anywhere between $300 — $50,000.
Anticipation of the Record
TNT has announced that they have flexed their schedule in anticipation of James breaking the record on Tuesday. He is currently averaging 30.7 points per game this season nd is 63 points away. So, if he plays Saturday night against the Pelicans and scores between 30-33 points and suits up Tuesday along with scoring another 30-33 points, we will be witnessing history Tuesday night. Averages are just that though, only averages, and do not mean he will get to that every single night.
Of course, many will say “this is LeBron James,” he rolls out of his bed and has scored at least 27 his whole career. Also, he has been on a scoring tear all season but especially since his birthday on Dec.30.
TNT also has the game for Thursday night just in case he sits out one of the next two upcoming games or has a rare off night.
No big name has yet to publicly announce on whether will they be in attendance Tuesday night but you can expect the Lakers usuals and a little extra star power.
Snoop Dogg, Abdul-Jabbar, Denzel Washington, Chris Rock, Rihanna, Jay-Z, Beyonce, one of his best friends Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Gabrielle Union, Shannon Sharpe, and a ton of other A-list celebrities probably have already made their plans and secured tickets to be there, just like in 2016 when Kobe Bryant played his last game.
The TV ratings will also be through the roof in anticipation, especially from his hometown of Akron, Ohio.
