Week 3 of the NFL season is complete and it belonged to the wide receiver. Several wideouts across the NFL carried their offenses with monstrous performances, which assuredly pleased both their team and fantasy owners.
Two-time pro bowl selection Julio Jones continued his historic play versus the Cowboys as he torched them for 164 yards and two touchdowns. Jones is currently on pace to gain 2,347 yards this season, which would annihilate the all-time record for receiving yards in a single season.
Cincinnati Bengals receiver AJ Green proved he was well worth his recent contract extension as he led all receivers in yardage, totaling 227 yards and two touchdowns.
Despite announcing his retirement after this season, Steve Smith Sr., looks like he has a lot left in the tank after he dominated the Bengals secondary to the tune of 186 yards, 13 receptions and two touchdowns.
Veteran wide out Larry Fitzgeralds 134 yards and two touchdowns assisted the Arizona Cardinals, off to a 3-0 start in consecutive seasons for the first time since 1923-1924.
Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper continues to ball like an early rookie of the year candidate, catching nine passes for 134 yards. Cooper became the first Raiders receiver since Randy Moss in 2005 to gain back-to-back 100 yard receiving games.
Last but not least, will anyone slow down Antonio Brown? Aside from the return of Le’Veon Bell, Brown was one of the few bright spots on offense for the Steelers , reeling in 11 receptions for 108 yards. It will be interesting to see if he can maintain his production with Michael Vick starting on Thursday versus the Ravens.
Whether these receivers can continue their dominance throughout the course of the NFL season will certainly be worth monitoring.
