The is the first series from Charter’s Spectrum cable service as a Spectrum Original.
The series sees Union reprising her character, Special Agent Sydney “Syd” Burnett, from the second Bad Boys film. Burnett was an undercover DEA operative and sister of Martin Lawrence’s Marcus Burnett and love interest for Will Smith’s Mike Lowrey.
In the show, Burnett is last seen in Miami taking down a drug cartel, who has seemingly left her complicated past behind to become an LAPD detective. Syd is now paired with a new partner, Nancy McKenna (Alba), who is a working mom with an equally complex history.
Ultimately, Syd is forced to confront how her unapologetic lifestyle may be masking a greater personal secret. Together, the pair takes on the most dangerous criminals in Los Angeles while bending the rules. Syd and Nancy become a force to be reckoned with–on the streets, and in each other’s lives.
