Troy Aikman destroys Skip Bayless

Troy Aiman was deadly with the spiral and now he’s proved that he’s equally as deadly with words.

In response to Sports Illustrated’s request for comment on Fox Sports’ hiring of Skip Bayless, Aikman let it fly, stating

To say Im disappointed in the hiring of Skip Bayless would be an enormous understatement, Aikman said. Clearly, [Fox Sports president of national networks] Jamie Horowitz and I have a difference of opinion when it comes to building a successful organization. I believe success is achieved by acquiring and developing talented, respected and credible individuals, none of which applies to Skip Bayless.

So where did the beef originate? Turns out that Bayless, in his book “Hell Bent” on the Dallas Cowboys of the 1990s, made an unsubstantiated claim that Aikman was gay. Aikman denied the claim, even telling SI Im upset about it because it was made up and there was nothing accurate about anything that was insinuated, Aikman said at the time. And he did it, as he does everything, just for attention.

Sounds like the start of another media war is simmering, this time at Fox.
