Tom Brady Again Shows His True Colors In Defeat | After One Of His Worst Games As A Pro The 7X Super Bowl Champ Throws A Temper Tantrum

For only the third time in his storied career the GOAT quarterback Tom Brady was shutout, and he was not happy about it.

Brady was seen and heard yelling obscenities at the officials, at New Orleans Saints’ coaches, and he slammed a Microsoft Surface tablet on the sidelines.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Brady behave like a child when things don’t go his way. He is an extremely sore loser.

Following a loss in the Super Bowl to the Eagles when he was still with the Patriots, Brady failed to shake hands with winning quarterback Nick Foles. After a Thursday Night Football loss to Foles and the Bears last season, Brady again left the field without shaking his hand.

Tom Brady Is Not The GOAT

He’s had several outbursts on the sideline aimed at former offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, and has broken a few tablets in anger.

His defenders and the majority of NFL media describe this behavior as passion and a “hate to lose” mentality. He’s given a pass because he’s the GOAT and has had such an historic career.

But it’s poor form and should be derided as such. He’s childish in these moments. They happen so rarely, he should find humility in them.

Brady is a 44-year-old man and has played 22 seasons in the league. Throwing a tablet and cursing at officials? Come on, man. You’re better than this. You’re the GOAT quarterback.

We take professional sports way too seriously as a society. It is at once some kind of larger arbiter for how a society should behave, while also being a glorified version of kids’ games. Sports causes people to lose their minds in a way that is simply fascinating.

Brady is no different in that respect.

Tom Brady Leaves Patriots, Determined To Win Without Belichick

But here’s a guy lauded for his calm demeanor in the highest leverage situations losing his mind over a little adversity.

Quite the dichotomy.

Of course the collective NFL media would be viewed more credibly if they covered Brady’s outbursts the same way they cover others such as Lamar Jackson, Cam Newton and Odell Beckham Jr. But we all know why that will never happen.

Ultimately this is a blip on the NFL radar screen amid the surge in COVID-19 cases due to the Omicron variant. Brady’s tantrum wasn’t even a topic of discussion on the talking head shows, and they usually get into it all.

Forget moral outrage, setting an example for kids, or any other larger issue you feel the need to place on this.

As an adult that has accomplished everything he has on and off the field, he should just feel embarrassed that he looks ridiculous. Blowing a gasket and acting like a toddler who got his favorite toy taken is such a bad look.

But, to each his own.

Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost 9-0 to the Saints and dropped to 10-4. The loss moves the Bucs a game behind the NFC- leading Green Bay Packers for best record and in a logjam with two other teams at 10-4. A logjam that could include the Los Angeles Rams by the conclusion of week 15 play.
