Conservative Leader Charlie Kirk Was Football and Basketball Force In High School

Everyone may not have agreed with the 31-year-old Kirk’s politics, but there’s one aspect of his life that was universal and familiar to everyone. His participation in sports. Kirk attended Wheeling High School in Illinois,  where he played quarterback on the varsity football team and was also captain of the basketball team according to reports.

In fact, Kirk’s ESPN recruiting profile from 2012, lists him a height of 6-3, a weight of 194 lbs, and a 40-yard dash time of 5.09 seconds, with his hometown being Wheeling, Illinois. He was reportedly a pocket passer with a high football IQ.

Ironically enough, that same year, at the age of 18, while some of his teammates continued the gridiron grind in college with hopes of going further, Kirk co-founded Turning Point USA (TPUSA), a student organization that aims to spread conservative ideas at liberal leaning colleges.

The rest is history.

In video posts going viral on social media, Kirk is seen struck by a bullet from long range while speaking and sitting beneath a tent in the Utah Valley University courtyard. The blood immediately started spurting out of his neck area. Kirk was there as part of The American Comeback Tour, which is hosted by the TPUSA chapter at Utah Valley.
