The Fast & Furious 7 Uses Desperate Measures to Finish Film

The release date to Fast & Furious 7 has been moved from its original July 2014 launching and it is now being suggested that Universal will fill in scenes with deceased actor Paul Walker with CGI and body doubles.

“They have hired four actors with bodies very similar to Paul’s physique and they will be used for movement and as a base,” a source told the New York Daily News. “Paul’s face and voice will be used on top using CGI.”

Director Ridley Scott made a similar substitution in 1999 when actor Oliver Reed died during production of “Gladiator.”

Production was delayed after Walker, who played Brian O’Conner in every film in the series except for Tokyo Drift, died in a car crash on Nov. 30 in Valencia, Calif. while on Thanksgiving break from filming. Shooting in Abu Dhabi is set to resume in April.

The street racing film had been scheduled for release on July 11, will hit theaters on April 10, 2015.
