With Three Games Left In The Season, Butler’s Return Is Right On Time

The Minnesota Timberwolves are a young, talented bunch whove been hanging on for their playoff lives without the services of veteran, four-time All-Star, Jimmy Butler who leads the team with 22.2 points per game this season to go with 5.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game.

Jimmy Butler has been announced as an All-Star reserve for the 2018 NBA All-Star game! Butler has been averaging 21.7 points per game, 5.0 assists, and 5.4 rebounds while leading the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 31-18 record!

Minnesota is 6-8 in the last 14 games and in a position to make the playoffs for the first time since Kevin Garnett was the face of the franchise back in 2004.

Butler was active Thursday after missing 16 games with a torn meniscus, but he didn’t play in a 100-96 loss to the Denver Nuggets. Denver entered the game in the ninth Western Conference playoff spot, one game behind the T-Wolves and are tied with three games remaining. The Clippers are two back.

Its been six weeks since the 28-year-old, silky smooth operator touched the court and Butler says he is willing to get back into the mix and risk re-injury for his team, which is admirable.

“You’ve gotta risk it for the biscuit, and I’m ready to do that,” Butler said. “I want to be in the playoffs. I want to continue to play. I’m not saying I’m the only reason we’re going to make it. But I think the chances are a little bit higher if I’m out there.”

It was obvious that Butler was getting fidgety watching games, being up close to the action, feeling the emotions but having to walk it out on the sidelines in a suit.

Minnesota is undoubtedly better with Butler on the court. Hes the leader, sets the defensive tone and has the playoff experience to guide Minnesotas talented tykes to some possible upsets, but first, they have to make the playoffs. With three games left in the season, Butlers return is right on time.
