“United We Stand: The Ali Summit” Draws Parallels To NFL Protests

Aside from the 50-year difference, its to draw parallels between the Ali summit and the current NFL protests.

Both consisted of prominent players’ standing up against a big institution, neither moment had them just “shut up and play” and controversy ensued in both decades. This is a perfect example of how history repeats itself and how we should learn from these two situations.

Directed by the talented Kirk Frazier, well known for a multitude of projects including BET’s “Lil Kim: Countdown to Lockdown” and ESPN’s “30 for 30: Without Bias” about Len Bias, “United We Stand” not only tells the story of one of the most important moments in Black history, but will also add another successful project to Frazier’s ever growing resume of accolades and awards he’s secured for his vision and amazing storytelling.

In “United We Stand: The Ali Summit,” viewers are given an in-depth look into Muhammad Ali’s fight for justice against the U.S. government and the athletes that stood behind him. Candid interviews captured the bravery of Ali, Jim Brown, John Wooten, Bobby Mitchell and more. The story “illustrates how the summit came together in that fateful summer of 1967 and the fallout the athletes faced in the aftermath.”
