Just one week after stepping down as manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers, “Donnie Baseball” is back.
The Miami Marlins have reportedly hired Mattingly as their next manager in a four-year contract.
Mattingly, who led the Dodgers to three straight NL West division titles, has been hired to spark a turnaround in a Marlins team which features some of the best young talent in the league in Giancarlo Stanton, Jose Fernandez and Dee Gordon.
The Marlins finished 71-91 this season and have not had a winning season since 2009.
