Sha’Carri Richardson Gets Kicked Off Plane En Route To Vacation | So Why Did Passengers Applaud?

Sha’Carri Richardson knows how to make her presence known, and on a recent flight every passenger noticed her and the rift she had with the flight attendant that got her kicked off the plane. Richardson filmed part of the altercation and went into detail about the incident she viewed as disrespectful, but the overall plane consensus was good riddance.

A flight attendant that Richardson identifies as “John” approached her about being on the phone before takeoff. She then started filming herself when the same flight attendant confronted her again, with some of it caught on camera.

The Receipts

Richardson posted two videos of the incident on her Instagram, first recording herself telling the camera she was on her way to vacation before the flight attendant interrupted her.

“I’m recording me but you jumped in my video, so I caught you, because you jumped in my video,” Richardson said when the flight attendant stepped into the frame in her video. “You’re harassing me at this point, so I think you should stop. I think you should stop.”

The caption for the video explained her side of the story.

“Prior to the video this gentleman asked me to get off a cellphone call, I did,” Richardson captioned. “I stated to him I didn’t like the tone he used with me. Following that while standing in front of me doing the safety protocols he continued to lean over to look at my phone. He asked to see that my phones were in airplane more at this point. He demanded that me show him. Which I did in front of him.”

In the second video Richardson posted, things escalated after she wants the flight attendant admonished. Another passenger confronted her and could be heard telling Richardson that he would miss his connecting flight.

She did not appreciate that energy.

“Oh, so you’re worried about a connection when a grown man is disrespecting me?” Richardson replied.

“I don’t give a s**t,” the passenger responded.

Bye, Sha’Carri

Ouch. Then the deck stacked as other flight attendants began telling Richardson that the captain was asking for her removal. When she inquires if the captain is aware of the initial flight attendant’s behavior earlier, the crew does not care to hear her side of the story. The flight attendants pushed for her removal, and eventually, she obliged, to the passengers’ applause.

Talk about the start of a vacation. Richardson’s additional Instagram caption captured her frustration and belief that her race was a factor for the flight attendant.

“Tell me if I’ll be wrong to pursue legal actions against the airline,” she wrote. “Not only did the man threaten me but also an innocent bystander who simply just wanted a picture with me. In the beginning of the video you can hear a Caucasian male state that he doesn’t give a f as a man that male flight attendant is intimidating a woman. Also the captain not doing anything to help the situation and this flight attendant has the applause when I exited the plane when I’m pretty serious the disrespect I received would not have happened if I was one of them.

“One of them even stated good luck with your ban (I see he took the time to do some research but not stand up for what’s right) soooo @americanairlines this flight attendant name was John and he refused to state his last name. However, him and the lady y’all see standing next to him looked me up also if I see videos posted from this flight watch. Tag if I can help just one person not have to deal with a situation like this with an individual like this, I’ll take the heat.”

Someone who can relate commented in the comments, and it was Odell Beckham Jr., fresh off his escorted exit from an airplane.

“TELL ME U GIT KICKED OFFF THE AMERICAN FLIGHT FOR NO REASON,” OBJ commented.

“WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTT BUTTT IM THE A**HOLE,” he added later.

It’s never been easy being a famous athlete on a commercial plane. Still, Sha’Carri Richardson is now the latest in an ongoing trend with flight attendants deciding to take them off flights than resolve the issue.
