For the second NFL combine in a row, a prospect tasted grass for lunch during his 40-yard dash. Last year Vick Ballard stumbled just a few steps into his 40 and yesterday Manti Te'o fell towards the end of a drill. Tuesday afternoon, it was Syracuse safety Shamarko Thomas who suffered the worst fall of all. It wasn't a waste though. Thomas barely tripped over the line with a 4.42 40 that was the fastest of all safeties who ran. However, after watching the impact he with the turf, you've got to wonder why NFL doctors on scene didn't force him to undergo concussion testing once he got up. Ouch! I'd hate to be a ball carrier or a receiver coming across the middle that gets blown up by Thomas.
