Ron Washington To Return as Rangers Manager In 2014

Right after the Rangers' playoff hopes faded away, the Texas Rangers announced that manager Ron Washington will return next season as the team’s manager according to CBSsports.com.

From CBS Sports:

Washington, 61, was thought to be on the hot seat after back-to-back disappointing finishes for Texas. They blew the AL West title on the final day of the 2012 season (and then lost the wild-card game) before dropping the tiebreaker this year.

In seven years under Washington, the Rangers have gone 611-524 (.538) with two first place finishes and two AL pennants. They've won 90+ games in each of the last four years and 87+ games in each of the last five years.

With Ron Washington coming back this definitely shows that he wasn’t the real reason behind the Rangers struggles this season. The real reason behind the struggles may be the players. Regardless of whose fault it is look forward to still see some changes on the roster during the offseason to get this team back to where they want to be.
