Basketball Wives Star And Rashard Lewis’ Ex-Brooke Bailey’s Daughter Kayla Now Revealed To Have Died After Smashing Into Stopped Truck On Highway

Kayla Bailey, the daughter of “Basketball Wives” star Brooke Bailey, died as the result of a car crash according to reports. The incident took place last Sunday morning around 4 a.m. in the Hollywood area of Memphis, Tennessee. Brooke announced her daughter’s death via Instagram later that day.

“Forever my baby, Pretty Black aka Kayla Nicole Bailey 💜🕊💔 This is not a goodbye. Mommy will see you soon 🙏🏾”

According to a statement from the Memphis Police Department, the incident involved two vehicles on the I-40 highway.

“The Memphis Police Department identified Kayla, 25, and driver Julius Weaver, 38, as the victims of a fatal collision with a tractor trailer that occurred around 4 a.m. Sunday on a stretch of highway near Hollywood, Tennessee,” the statement read.
“Vehicle # 1, eastbound on I-40, struck with its front, the rear of vehicle # 2 which was stopped in the traffic lane due to crash at that location. The Vehicle #1 driver and passenger were pronounced deceased.”

Brooke Bailey first appeared on “Basketball Wives” in 2012. She was allegedly romantically involved with ex-NBA players Rashard Lewis and Vernon Macklin. Most recently, she was married to ex-NBA player Ronnie Holland. They were married in 2014, and divorced earlier this year.

Brooke also appeared on the spinoff edition of the reality show titled “Basketball Wives LA.” She was a main member of the cast, in its second season. She also made a cameo appearance in 2016 during the fifth season.

Brooke returned to the original show in its latest season, starring alongside Shaunie O’Neal, Jackie Christie, Malaysia Pargo, Jennifer Williams, Brandi Maxiell, DJ Duffey, Angel Brinks, British Williams, Nia Dorsey and Noria-Dorsey Taggart. A recent episode deals with Brooke’s decision to begin in vitro fertilization (IVF) in the hopes of completing her family.

Brooke has two other children in addition to the now-deceased Kayla.

Obviously in the early stages of grieving her daughter, Brooke posted another message about her daughter Kayla on Sunday.

“Kayla left a mark on so many lives,” Brooke said Sunday. “She entered the room and demanded respect, love and attention. If you had the pleasure of meeting her and being friends with her, she has forever changed your life.”
“It was God preparing me for this moment in my life. Although, I was not prepared,” she added at the time. “I am grateful for the 25 years he Blessed me to have HIS child. To love her, to hold her, to teach her, to comfort her. She was my happiness on earth.”

Brooke has been receiving a tremendous amount of support online from her fans and fans of the reality television show. She thanked everyone through her Instagram Story.

“Thank you for your prayers, kind messages and love during this tragic time,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “I wish that I could personally respond to each & everyone of you.”

Death is never easy to deal with, especially when a parent is burying their child. Condolences to Brooke Bailey and her family.
