Peyton Manning Out Indefinitely With Foot Injury

The Denver Broncos announced that quarterback Peyton Manning was playing with a torn plantar facia in his left foot, during Sunday’s 28-14 loss to their division rival Kansas City Chiefs.

Manning, who became the NFL’s all-time leading passer in that game, has been dealing with plantar fasciitis for several weeks now. He aggravated the injury last week against the Indianapolis Colts but refused to blame his poor performance on the injury.

Via ESPN:

“If you look back on it now, I have a hard time saying thats why I played badly,” Manning said Sunday. “Could that be the reason? I guess it always could be. But to me, thats an easy way out. Thats kind of an easy line to say after the fact.

There is no current timetable for his return and that’s bad news for Denver and football fans looking forward to seeing what could be the last Brady-Manning showdown in Week 12. But in the meantime, Brock Osweiler, making his first NFL start next week versus the Chicago Bears, will attempt to prove he can be Manning successor.
