Rapper Offset, whose claim to fame is being one-third of the rap group “The Migos,” and also the ex-husband of rapper Cardi B, is recovering from a gunshot wound. The “Motorsport” emcee was shot outside of a Florida casino on Monday, April 6.
A statement given to Complex said, “We can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care. He is stable and being closely monitored.”
While Offset is reportedly doing fine, as pics Tuesday showed him sitting outside the hospital in his gown smoking a cigarette, former Dallas Cowboys star Dez Bryant tells a different story. Bryant, took to X to post DMs of Offset and rapper Lil Tjay going back and forth over a gambling debt of $10K that the “Bad and Boujee” rapper owes him. Tjay, who was arrested at the scene on charges unrelated to the shooting, was released on Tuesday.
Bryant Says Offset Owes Him As Well
In the aftermath of the shooting, Bryant the former Cowboys star took to X say that Offset owes him $8K from a gambling debt, and he even reached out to him just hours prior to being shot.
“I don’t ever talk about what I do or my relationships with anyone but I’m going to give y’all a quick story between me and Offset,” Bryant wrote. “I beat Offset out of 8K he tried to take a nap on me and I go to tap on him to wake him up… telling him I need that 8k… his patnas saw me tapping on him… I can tell his patnas wanted to jump on some bullsh-t.”
“I charged it to the game,” he continued. “I swear to God Offset reached out to me yesterday three hours before he got shot on a money play… I thought about it said, ‘I’m good.’ Then I saw the news later on and was like damn… Some people don’t play about they money.”
Bryant also claims he didn’t get into it with him because he was completely outnumbered by Offset and his crew.
Bryant Says He’s No Punk, He’s Smart
Bryant’s comments drew the ire of a fan who said that Offset had “punked him.” The father of two made sure to respond to the fan in another tweet.
“Bruh ain’t nobody b-tch me,” Bryant responded. “Most importantly I’m not getting mad over nothing I can make within 5 minutes… Some of us carry a lot of sense. WTF I look like getting hurt over some money I can make 100 million times… Kids don’t ever listen to a fool like this.”
Hot 97 Legend Says Set Owes Him Too
In a recurring theme of Offset seemingly having a gambling addiction, former Hot 97 deejay and radio personality Ebro chimed in, saying the “We Set The Trends” rapper also owes him some bands.
“He owes me $5,000. He does,” Ebro remarks in one clip from the show. “Offset’s fine. I tried to call him last night. We bet on the Super Bowl in New Orleans. I bet $5,000. I was prepared to pay him $5,000. I’ve talked to him a thousand times since then and never jammed him up about $5,000 because clearly, he’s somebody who didn’t pay his bet. Like, why am I gonna chase you around about five grand? It’s not a big deal to me.”
Fans Couldn’t Resist The Urge To Make Jokes At Set’s Expense
“Bro prolly owes me sum,” a fan said.
“Offset’s debts list going viral shows financial chaos. Man’s flexing millions but owing bread everywhere. That’s the street fantasy hitting reality hard,” another fan said.
“Bammas at the club throwing money while in debt,” a fan quipped.
“That’s on them for giving him money knowing he’s the worst gambler south of the canada/USA border. Lmfao,” a fan mentioned.
“Wow all y’all got finessed and finagled,” a fan spewed.
Seems like his divorce to the “Bodak Yellow” femcee and turning to a solo rap career has gotten the best of Offset, who seems to be spiraling. Hope he gets the help he needs, he has children that need him.
