Odell Beckham, Jr. Is A Thriller In The Record Books

The rise of the the Giants’ dynamic third year receiver Odell Beckham Jr. continued with their 21-20 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals last night. With his 10-reception, 97-yard game that included a touchdown, Beckham became the fastest player to reach 3,500 receiving yards, doing so in 36 games.

The previous record was held by Hall of Fame receiver Lance Alworth.

OBJ’s ascension into football lure has led to him becoming one of the NFL’s most popular and visible stars. He also broke his tie with Antonio Brown for the most touchdown receptions since 2014 with the 31st of his career.

What started off as a slow and somewhat controversial season in which the G-Men went 2-3 through their first 5 games has now become a 6-3 record thanks in large part to the theatrics of Odell. While many criticized him for being a distraction for his emotional sideline outbursts, OBJ has once again proven to be the straw that stirs the drink for the New York Giants.

Speaking with ESPN’s Monday Night Football crew, Beckham emphasized his desire to become a Super Bowl champion while also acknowledging Ben McAdoo’s offense is still a work in progress with his crop of young receivers.

With the Giants poised to make a playoff run, Odell seems primed to cement his name in NFL history books more often in the days and years to come.
