Sanchez has organized the informal workouts and team-bonding sessions, dubbed "Jets West," for each of the last few summers at Mission Viejo High School, his alma mater. It was not certain if the quarterback officially invited Smith, the team's second-round pick who is competing with Sanchez for the starting job, but Smith will not participate in the workouts that started Thursday, the person told the AP.
While it's important to bond with your teammates, the amount of chemistry being developed at this camp is questionable, as Sanchez has been the worst QB in the league at completing passes. After all this is a passing camp, why would Geno want to learn from him?
