She’s the new generation, Robin Hood, winning majors, collecting bags from the rich and breaking bread with the underserved.
In fact, earlier this week the tennis superstar announced that she’d be expanding her philanthropic relationship with Nike.
Now, she’s stepping into a new role with one of her favorite restaurants, Sweetgreen.
In a recent Instagram post, the tennis champion announced that she was becoming the company’s youngest investor and newest brand ambassador.
“With this partnership, the duo hopes to shift “the paradigm of food sponsorship and create a more positive impact on really how the next generation thinks about healthy eating.”
Osaka stated the following: “I’m proud to join forces with Sweetgreen to change the way the world thinks of traditional fast-food sponsorships.
As an athlete, what I put into my body directly correlates to how I perform and eating delicious, healthy foods fuels my daily routine. I’m excited about the work we’re doing together to create a positive impact.”

“I’d like to start my own brand one day, probably together with my sister, but for now I’m loving “collabing” with some great designers while learning the craft and the business, mentioned prior to her latest clothing brand deal.
“I’m working on a few more collaborations that will come out in 2021. I can’t exactly say what yet, but I’m super excited,” said Osaka, who’s now won four of the last six hard-court majors.
Osaka and Sweetgreen’s culinary team collaborated to design a custom bowl that will debut nationwide on May 20 and only be available via the Sweetgreen app via pickup or delivery.
It’s called the “Naomi Osaka Bowl,” which is her typical go-to order and consists of warm quinoa, baby spinach, cilantro, tomato, tortilla chips, raw carrots, goat cheese, blackened chicken, lime-cilantro jalapeño vinaigrette, avocado and sweetgreen hot sauce.
As part of their partnership, Sweetgreen and Osaka are jointly supporting The Asian American Foundation, and their efforts to advance equity in the AAPI community and across the globe.
