MLB “Unfiltered Series” Presents Black Voices In Baseball

MLB’s “The Unfiltered Series continues for Black History Month with a poignant conversation titled “Black Voices In Baseball” which includes participation from Michele Meyer-Shipp (MLB Chief People & Culture Officer), Bianca Smith (Boston Red Sox Player Development Coach), Lewis Brinson (Miami Marlins outfielder) Dave Roberts (Los Angeles Dodgers Manager), and Bo Porter (MLB Coaching Development Consultant).

The series provides attendees with an opportunity to hear perspectives from figures throughout the sport on issues related to diversity. Leadership from The Players Alliance, including Curtis Granderson, Chris Dickerson and Chris Young have participated.

Baseball Analyst Eduardo Pérez guided the former Angels GM through a conversation that touched on Reagins’ mentors along the way, insightful anecdotes, and efforts led by his department at MLB to help grow the future of the sport.

Historically, the GM Chronicles session at the Winter Meetings has featured Kenny Williams ( Executive Vice President of the Chicago White Sox), Cuban-born Al Avila (executive vice president of baseball operations and general manager of Detroit Tigers) and Farhan Zaidi (President of Baseball Operations for the San Francisco Giants).
