Michael B. Jordan To Star In The Wachowski’s Matrix Reboot

Jordan is taking another stab at the Sci-Fi genre.

In the tradition of reboots, the blockbuster franchise, ‘The Matrix is making a comeback.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a Matrix Reboot is in the works and Zak Penn (The Avengers, X-Men, Ready Player One) in talks to write the script. Though, there’s no word on just how the film will be presented—whether that’s binging a whole season, in movie theaters or interactive television. It also notes that Michael B. Jordan has been mentioned for a starring role.

Other sources add that The Wachowski siblings, who wrote and directed the original trilogy, are already onboard. John Wick director, Chad Stahelski, recently stated he was thrilled that “the Wachowskis are not just doing a Matrix, but they’re expanding what we all loved.”

Plot details are still unknown, but the project is already beginning to fill out its crew with Hugh Bateup, who was an art director on 1999’s ‘The Matrix’ set to return to the franchise as the production designer for this film.

Reports from Discussing Film reports production is set to begin early 2020 in Chicago, under the project name “Project Ice Cream”.  Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society Productions and Warner Bros will produce the film.
