Matt Barnes Spit On Fiancée Anansa Sims’ Ex David Patterson Jr. At 49ers Game | Then Files A Restraining Order?

Former NBA player turned podcaster Matt Barnes recently went disrespectful toward his fiancée Anansa Sims’ ex David Patterson Jr. when he spat on Patterson at the San Francisco 49ers versus Dallas Cowboys divisional playoff game last weekend.

Why Was Matt Barnes Fighting Anansa Sims’ Ex-Husband David Patterson Jr.?

In a now-viral video, Barnes and Patterson, the ex-husband of Barnes’ fiancée, got into a physical altercation at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

The two saw each other on the stadium concourse, where they engaged in a heated shoving exchange. Barnes took an extra step of stank when he spat at Patterson, which can be seen clearly in the video. Now Barnes is looking for legal protection against Patterson as he filed a restraining order against him in Los Angeles County.

Matt Barnes Says He Was Being Hunted

Barnes described the situation as feeling like he was being “hunted” in the court documents, per TMZ.

“Hunted me down and aggressively confronted me,” Barnes said. He also wrote that Patterson, Jr. threatened and hurled profanities at him, ultimately inciting the crowd gathered around them “into a frenzy by yelling out my full name repeatedly.”

Barnes also stated that Patterson Jr. eventually “shoved me, and I was forced to push him off me.” He continued, “I did not want the altercation to physically escalate further, and out of frustration with him seeking me out and his unrelenting repeated harassment I spit in his direction in disgust.”

Spitting seems like the escalating factor in most physical altercations, but Barnes attempts to get ahead of the damning video with his explanation.

Who Is Anansa Sims?

The 37-year-old celebrated Christmas by getting engaged to the mother of his youngest son. Anansa Sims is a plus-sized model and the daughter of the legendary Beverly Johnson. She said “yes” to the proposal and shared a touching photo in front of the Christmas tree at home in matching pajamas with Barnes. The two have been together for five years.

On May 11, 2017, Anansa Sims and David B. Patterson Jr. filed a Family — Marriage Dissolution/Divorce petition in San Bernardino County Superior Courts. The two starred on Beverly Johnson’s reality show, “Beverly’s Full House,” which showed life at the legendary model’s house in Palm Springs, California, after her daughter, her then son-in-law Patterson and baby granddaughter moved in.

Patterson is a former NFL and Canadian Football League football player. The Ohio native and Ohio State University product went undrafted in 2007 but was eventually signed by the Atlanta Falcons to start his professional playing career. He played defensive tackle for the Falcons for the 2007-2008 season. Then he went to the Canadian Football League, where he played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He stopped playing football after an injury took him out of the game, and he has since transitioned to regular life.

Patterson was married to Sims for seven years, from 2010 to 2017. The couple had three children together before splitting up. The couple appeared on “Beverly’s Full House” while married.

Barnes has been known to be staunchly defensive in his relationships. His notorious confrontation with former Los Angeles Lakers teammate Derek Fisher is now the stuff of legend. Fisher was reportedly dating Barnes’ ex and mother of his older children, Gloria Govan, and Barnes had a physical altercation with him once he found out.

Guess his podcast “All The Smoke” is aptly named.
