After ducking some intense shots at the SEC Media Day on Wednesday, Heisman quarterback Johnny Manziel took a cross-country flight to Los Angeles to rub elbows with some of the biggest starts in sports at the ESPYs.
For a guy who said he needed some time to relax after getting kicked out of Manning Camp, it seems a bit weird that he would find himself at two major media events in one day. The Texas A&M star won Best Male College Athlete, while Jadeveon Clowney won the ESPY for Best Play for blowing up Michigan’s Vincent Smith in the Outback Bowl.
Alabama was nominated for Best Team, but starting quarterback AJ McCarron decided to skip the event and kept it real with his competition.

The Heat won five ESPYs last night, including Best Team for the second year in a row. Lebron James stayed winning as well, snagging Best Male Athlete while having a hilarious one-liner in his acceptance speech.
Mad Men star Jon Hamm was the host, and he went in on Dwight Howard during his opening monologue. Of course, there is no way Howard would set foot in LA this soon, so he wasn’t in attendance.
