Transcendence is shaping up to be one of those cult classic science fiction films you want to see over and over again. No, we haven’t seen the entire film as of yet. But if the trailer is any indicator, we’re likely right on target with our assessment. The film will mark the directorial debut of Academy Award-winning cinematographer Wally Pfister (Inception, The Italian Job) and stars Johnny Depp, Morgan Freeman, Rebecca Hall and Kata Mara.
The plot centers around a critically ill scientist (Depp) who downloads his consciousness into a computer mainframe. Sounds crazy? Get ready, mankind is only a few generations away from making that a reality. Imagine. Transcendence is due to hit theaters April 17.
